So I have been a Mercury guy all my years and love seeing these odd things show up. I was 15 years old in 1979 and the guy across the street built only 1967 mustangs. He took me to a swap meet just over the Rhode Island line in Connecticut and I saw the only Mercury pickup i have ever been around in person, a 1967 with a 289 it was dark green. I fell in love on the spot but I never came across one again in life let alone one for sale. About to be 60 soon and don't think I will ever see one again. Thanks for a great video, I will just have to drive my 1987 F 150 4x4 lariat with a H O 351 Cleveland instead. Not a bad consolation prize considering it is an Arizona truck and even is a factory 4bbl. Thanks again and best wishes.

Loved the M100 video! Thank you. I'm pretty sure the "analog clock" is the AM radio, which is why it has volume and tuning knobs right next to it, unevenly spaced numbers on the face, and an antenna. The round dial wasn't all that uncommon, whether in a car or a house, and in this case is meant to mimick the speedometer. Just about everything had a generator until '63. Alternators were mainly adopted to prevent dim lights at idle and to better serve vehicles with a lot of power-draining options. One other thing...just about everything on earth went to 4 headlights in 1958, much to the dismay of millions of folks. So it is noteworthy that the M100 still had only two eyeballs that year. Maybe it's really a '57 that wasn't sold until '58. Even so, the title might still say '58. Thank you for your article, comments, and photos. I have been working on mounting a unique custom grill and Mercury badges on a 1980 F100 and maybe on a 1977 F100, as well--just for fun. I like to be different, anyway. A counterfeit M100 is probably not a new idea, but it should be enough to cause a few double-takes and questions from innocent bystanders. After all, that's all Ford did in order to make the real M trucks! I wish I had one.

Nice truck, just like the ford. Clock is not, it’s the radio, standard fuel tank sending unit ,gravity feed tank with mechanical pump on engine, vin tag on glove box door and key lock on passenger door all standard !! I guess this has never seen a fifties pickup. 😂. Maybe he should get out more.

Just a tip on your videos of older cars, counting the vent caps on battery to determine voltage 2 volts per cap / or cell. By 56 most autos were now 12 volt systems, generators were around till 63 and pull handles for emergency brakes till mid sixties in some cars and has nothing to do with the type of transmission the car has. Also the nice interior dash molding there to hide the windshield defrost vents. Was born in 54 and grew up wrenching on cars my whole life so I guess to me this is all common knowledge so I guess I’m showing my age.

No, there was not Bumper on the back of those trucks and I'm not sure the year 58 is correct because the 57 had the single headlight grill and 58 thru 60 had the twin headlights.
