Your Christine is a very good car, and it deserve to be driveable and restored. Go ahead! You can do it. Its a Mopar, remember that: Mopar or No car. Its the same with my old Monaco. Its like a grandson of that great oldtimer cars. Cheers!

I know the video is old, but I couldn’t help but chiming in that this old gal is worthy of a restore as a good driver. Even though she’s a more-door. Poly 318, automatic transmission. All trim and and bling present. Power brakes. Power steering. I’d have fun with her.

Christine was a made up car that didn’t exist in real life but in actuality more closely resembled a Belvedere than a Fury. But any 57/58 Plymouth is automatically called Christine especially if it’s red. That’s just how it is.

The best that can be said is that its a perfect example of how not to restore a car! For parking brake - if you can find an early 1960s Mopar with powerflite and poly engine combo use that to replace the knocking engine. Then make sure that there is a physical cable link between the parking/emergency brake lever and the brake drum on the drive shaft at the rear of the transmission. Or, alternatively change the rear brakes to the Bendix system drum brakes with the automatic adjusters and run a cable from the parking/emergency brake back to the rear brakes. It is so sad to see such a poor job of repainting and repair of rusted body panels. I would expect this one to eventually be a parts donor car.

I have several Poly engines that I can swap in to replace the knocker. The car is at a point where it's too good to be a parts car but too bad to be restored. It'll probably be in limbo for a while.
