Wow this is a beauty. I am just know discovering how beautiful these cars are. I was raised on Chevy but now I am really liking these Plymouth's. A real nice machine there. Travis

Wow, this is sweet, I know a guy who cornered the market on the air cleaners for some of these years, this is pure thrill..

My grandpa always talked about his Plymouth Golden Commando with two 4 barrel carbs. He never talked about the model or the year... just that it was the Golden Commando. Later, he told me it was a '58 and that it was a 350. I think it was the Fury. Yours is sweet.

In the book, the Fury was special ordered to be red. In real life, the Fury only came in beige with gold trim. The "Fury" in the movie was a mix of Belvederes and Furys all painted the same way, with Belvedere-style trim. The Fury was a special model in the Belvedere series.

I love that two-tone scheme! I hope you have a garage for it. That is too beautiful a car to be sitting outside! It's sad to say but "on a quite night you can hear a late '50s Mopar rust" was reality for many an owner of those cars! Quality control as I understand it was a bit slack as well. :(

-Yes,you're right,my mistake. -I worked with some of those cars in the 80s and they used to pack polys with dual quads and wedge shaped vcs on the lower sides, with the same type air cleaners, all chrome though... -Those were the 318 dual V800,standard engine on Furys, you got the second year of the big block architecture but narrower than a 440,so it can only be the 350 Golden Commando V8. -You're right,i'm wrong congratulations on the car!

No. Chrysler Corp's big block engines debuted in 1958. Plymouth's big block that year was the 350 (with two FOUR barrel carbs). Dodge and DeSoto got a 361. The Chrysler brand stayed with the Hemi engine for this year.

This is an original 350 cid/305 hp Belvedere? Wow... rare option indeed. Was red and white the original paint scheme on this one? (Seems like every '58 Plymouth I see is red and white, because of the movie car.)

It's not a clone. And I like the "GM-look" of the wheels matching the body color.

Yeah, it's a year and car-correct engine. It was originally a black car, but I think it looks best in this color combo.

-Do you know that Egge obsolete engine parts still make rebuild kits for those engines? -I believe that they're the only ones in the market that still have that...

No power brakes??? Christine had power brakes, and Christine's wheels were painted silver. Not a bad car!!!

Nope, it's a one-year-only 350 Big Block V8. Plymouth was the only one to get it with 2x4s that year.
