Cool, Glen. I found a blue '58 just like yours in even rougher shape out in the woods, and three years later, she's back on the road and we're having a blast. Good luck on your project getting to know her!

Good luck Glen your at the beginning of a long adventure. Don't forget to use eye & ear protection along a mask when necessary. Be careful what you breathe in young man there was some very nasty gear around in the 50s, 60s & 70s Keep the videos coming as it's so interesting to watch someone else doing the dirty work. Take care & stay safe 😷🇬🇧👍

you have a long road ahead of you. clean up those floors and there will be pinholes all through them. also the seat stand front parts. steering box I would clean up and put STP in it. then it wont leak. works great.

Glen remember heat is your friend. Use your gas torch to heat up the nuts and bolts and you'll be surprised how you can free them up.

From one Glen to another, restored a '66 bus in the UK 25 years ago. The rotisserie is much better than lying on your back with a faceful of rust!

Buddy, you ought to go over the floor pan with a hammer and a wire wheel to see just what needs fixing. Create your plan, and then kick it into gear. Don't make extra work! Good luck, love the Kombi!🇺🇸🎩🇺🇸

FYI NEVER take the heater tubes out under the front floor. cut out the piece of the floor that goes behind there and butt it back in. Taking the heater tubes out is a nightmare that is totally unnecessary.

Mike F N has awesome videos on resto of two buses....white camper, and orange bucket truck... check out Marcie June Bug, she has a 58 she is doing and in her videos are links to other VW lovers.

it's a ball joint separator tool, Harbor Freight has them -- about 10 dollars. Really handy on taking out the center steering... I had mine cranked all the way on my 67, got out from under it, wondering what I was going to do, I said God Help Me, and BOOM, it popped apart. Got to have that tool...
