My 59 broke the lower left ball joint making a left turn into the lot where I worked. There I was out there with a cold chisel banging out the rivets that held it in with just a 16 oz ballpeen hammer. It took forever. I think I was eighteen at the time... That would been 1968 folks lol damn I'm old

I love watching your videos & learn a lot from them as well as find them entertaining sometimes. Mr Johnathan I build classic Chevy lowriders you should glass bead the original springs strip them and paint and protect them I'd go with a metallic blue to stay with the Ford theme if they sag you can get some new coil springs if you didn't have so many projects going the easiest route to restoration unbolt the seats clean the interior out and unbolt the body mounts remove the body from the chassis you're gonna be able to fully restore it easily.and fix everything.

Grand Marquis/Crown Vic...same bellybutton cars. GM one-wire alternator...whaat?? There's nothing wrong with a generator. It's no more likely to fail than the GM alternator. I dunno, when I drive an old car I want to experience it the way it was. As far as parts go, get used to offshore parts. The chinese said they were going to own the aftermarket parts business eventually, lock stock and barrel. It's like everything else...we SAY we want to buy parts made in the good 'ol USA but our wallets...say...otherwise.

Tyler's Neighborhood Garage Gm, one wire is the way to go on anything. parts availability alone. the old generator goes out it could be a week or more for parts. even in my off road Toyota a lot of us run the Gm. next as far as the Chinese owning the parts business they better step up their quality, there are many places I won't buy parts from anymore, to many times they either won't work out of the box or I have had to replace them within a year

@kennethlaw5216

Dan Bouchard fuel pumps are the worst. I have never had any luck with the local auto parts stores such as Napa, Auto zone, etc. All the mechanics in the area all say the same. go to the dealer GM, Ford, Toyota, what ever you have. local auto parts stores I get about a year out of, factory pumps last a lot longer, as much of a pain as they are to change you are best off to buy a good one. now that said there must be good aftermarket pumps out there. theses guys that are running twin turbos and blowers are running as many as 3 pumps. now that said you get what you pay for. you want cheap parts just to get by, you buy China, you want lasting parts you have to pay to play. so I'm not sure you will see the China parts take over, but I also know the whole living paycheck to paycheck. but again, you get what you pay for

Hear what you are saying about pulling original parts to replace with aftermarket. I like to repair old bicycles and some youtubers say pull all the old bearings and replace with new ones. If metal parts are in good shape why not just clean and relube them? Rubber parts are gonna rot and need replaced, but I trust the workmanship and metalurgy of vintage parts vs some no name iffy China stuff. Bought some off brand oven cleaner the other day, to use to remove spray bomb paint on a bike frame - never touched it! Always worked for me before, just looked at the can - Made in China. I wonder what was in it.
