I love it, especially the park brake... that's a classic. I had to take a 2 stroke DD in a cab-over for a 5 hr trip one day that ended up being 9 hrs. It was hot and no aircond so had the windows open and the old DD singing along about 70 mph. That was like running a 4 hr nascar race, my ears where pretty much shot by the time I got home, lol.

Nearly any Manual transmission can be shifted like that. Done it in pretty much every manual car I’ve driven/owned. It’s pretty smooth once you get the hang of it and your clutch will last longer. And it’s kind of fun lol.

Many years ago while in college I drove a 1070A Lodestar with the same combination. That Fuller was the slickest shifting transmission I every operated. Exhaust pipe separated from the muffler on the way back from the stone quarry one day and I had to drive it all the way home loaded. That was without a doubt the loudest engine I have ever heard. Awesome video! Thanks for the glimpse back in time at this wonderful machine! I really miss "driver's vehicles" and while I'd rather be driving a 1959 corvette, even when it's a truck you still get to be engaged with the vehicle and the road! No chance of someone texting and driving in this thing! First truck I ever drove was a 1982 Mack Twin-stick. It was noisy, awful, slow, rode like a wagon but I still loved to drive it.

A Detroit likes to be run HARD.. If you do not fun a Detroit hard they will slobber oil all over.. I knew this ol boy in LA that worked on nothing but Detroits years ago.. He would tell truck drivers, "First thing you want to do when you get in the truck is SLAM YOUR HAND IN THE DOOR. Now you are MAD at the truck!! Now you are ready to drive it." Two things in your video though.. Number one, never leave a truck like this in gear when shut off.. It has a manual fuel shut off which you pushed back in to make it ready to start.. Should this truck become pushed it will start cuz it has fuel.. The other thing is you should not need to give the truck throttle when letting the clutch out.. Just ease the clutch out and it will take off.. Nice old truck.. Thanks for sharing..

Hasnt moved that i know in my whole life im 19 and felt like a kid behind the wheel huge grin just enjoying the feeling of I’m 5 foot 6 i fit perfectly in the drivers seat ...... i want that truck so bad......150 hp at 1300 rpms. Good. But room for improvement. Rather drive a 950 with a 6-71t and 5&4 spicer but oh well
@INTERNATIONAL_RDF-D

furnace3 the Ford Taurus isn’t using a 270CID In line six designed in the late 30s..... with 7.5:1 compression and low displacement. And they aren’t meant to rev above 3500 rpm Comparing it to a modern 3.5l v6 engine that can rev much higher with aluminum heads modern fuel injection. Etc. my 350 small block Chevy makes twice the horsepower as well but it’s not an 80 year old engine design I’m sure you were being sarcastic. But that was an unfair comparison... 150 hp is nothing to laugh at...... the 120 Cummins engine of the early fifties was only 120 hp and it pulled 30 foot trailers of whatever you can think of all over the place. It may have done it a little slower. But it still got the job done.

I left a comment (lonnnng) on your newest "update" video a few minutes ago.... with your new Low rider seats and blankout of the radio...... and why would "anyone" want to listen to a radio, when you have the most "beautiful" music in the world... surrounding you, going down the road ?!!?? : )
