I owned one of these back in 1983, but it was a 2-door hardtop. Same red hounds-tooth, up-hostelry. 283 2-barrel carb, and a powerslide, good times. Sold it to Doug, one of our roadies.

I learned to drive on back roads at age 12 in a 64 Impala Station-Wagon, could barely see above the dashboard. I did this while my dad was taking his Sunday afternoon naps so I did not adjust his seat (he was 6' tall) to hide my little trips. Phil

beautiful antique Impala one of GM's great B Body cars along with the first 4 gens of its Chevy twin the Caprice my dad Drove a used 1984 Caprice Classic sedan for several years while I was growing up from 1993 until 2000 around the time I'd have gone to driving school had I not had the vision limitations I do in our state Massachusetts any car between 25 and 49 years old is considered a Classic and any car 50 years or older is considered an antique so my late maternal grandmothers 1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88 is a classic its base price was $6,200 when new which would be equivalent to spending $28,177 in 2023 money similar to what a Toyota Camry LE Hybrid costs as base price for the 2023 model year and its nearly 20 years since Toyota launched the Hybrids of the Corolla Camry etc.

The car was put away in a under house garage in 1970 covered up with blankets and over the years it was a flat surface so many items were piled up on top of it (washer and drier was right next to it). The drive way leading to the garage was overgrown and items piled up over the years it took two days and and two dumpsters to remove items and to clear the drive way to get the car out. The family didn't know why the gentleman put the car away they just knew the car was always there while they while growing up , he passed away a couple years ago and his estate was left to his grand daughter she gave it to her brother in-law who was a mechanic and recommission it with and i purchased the car. I do have all the original paper work as well. I have photos of car found in the garage and photos of driveway.

Thank you. Wow! That is an amazing story but kind of sad. A used up car can tell a story; years ago my last new car was a 1993 Dodge Intrepid. My daughter was born the same year. For the 5 years that I owned it , our family some amazing adventures. Ha ha or I had old Cadillac that I "taught" my 11 year old daughter to drive it while she sat on a pile of phone books. Her mom never did find out.
