It's very rare to find KZitem content about the Corvair that isn't clickbait garbage about the supposedly poor or unsafe design, so THANK YOU for posting two good videos about these cool cars! (If you couldn't tell, I'm a Corvair enthusiast and owner of 2). Keep the content coming and good luck with the channel!

True words! I can't stand the know-nothing trolls that heard the random rumors and all of a sudden think they're experts on everything about Corvairs.

Don't use tar undercoatings, they trap moisture and accelerate rust. Use lanolin instead.

Loved the video. When I was around 4 and 5 years old, my Dad had several Corvairs including a rampside pickup just like the one towards the back of your shop (white with a red stripe). I currently own a '69 Z/28 but would honestly rather tool around in a nice red/white (or white/red) Corvair rampside. Thanks so much for posting this.

Two forever regrets: Passed on a chance to get a '62 Lakewood wagon in 1981 and a Rampside pickup in 1986.

Here on the east coast lots of these and the van version were sold to surf fisherman. with some fat tires they were great in the sand.

Sadly you'll probably have to get your Lakewood fix from the clip of one in the '65-69 buyer's guide video

@@FlawlessPlanGarage Well...nope. The Lakewood was built in 1961, and wagons were discontinued after 1962.

@@killintimeinsanjose Note that I didn't say the Lakewood was produced from '65-69, I said there was a clip of a Lakewood in that video.

Does this place do customer repairs, and engine work? I’m in Wisconsin and I have an old panel van that is struggling to stay together. Not as bad as the one in the video but getting there. I’m looking at sending it to Corvair ranch, but the van is very important to me and I’m worried after shipping it there they won’t repair it.

Yes, in some cases they do. Feel free to contact Chris and talk to him, the Corvair Ranch is another great option! www.shadesclassiccars.com/contact/

My first Truck! '61 Ramp side white/gold interior. Sold it in 82 for $400! Everytime I saw it drive by years later I punched myself......It made loading Fridges to 3 wheelers easy!

Don't know why rampside didn't sell better as new. Would seem ideal for curbside business (e.g appliance, et al).

Thank you for the video. I'm looking at buying a corvair van and modifying it into a family van. I can use all the info i can find. I live in SW MO and would be very interested in meeting you or your friend to gain some knowledge.

There's a "Corvairs of SW MO" Facebook group that might be good to connect with, as well as your local CORSA chapter. Lots of good Corvair people down that way. Shade's Classic Cars in Hastings, NE is always a good stop if you're in the area as well!

I find it really great that you made a buyer guides for these very underrepresented vehicles! but I have to critique you on something: You seem to forget an important part of a buyers guide: Talking about models, model years, production numbers, model changes, and interior options. Example: Model changes -1963 shifter style change -1964 redesigned rear accessdoor design -1964 rear anti sway bar It is kinda important for a buyer to know some things about the history of the car they wanna buy, especially if you look at something as unloved as corvairs (lots of part switching) Still I appreciate your effort, keep it up!
