Thanks. Very simple and fun kit to build. Does have for and mold issues but anyone can overcome them

So THAT'S how you get the mirror shine... I've been looking into different approaches but this is short, sweet and gets it done... nice work...

No problem. I use 2K Clear which does dry harder than Tamyia or any other lacquer paint clear. If I were to use a different clear than a 2K I would wet sand and polish by hand. After the polishing steps I would use Mequiar's Scratch X with a motor tool just at the lowest setting. However, make sure you have plenty of clear on the body first otherwise you risk burning through the top coat.

Neat technique... the Marker works as a guide coat.

It really does work. Takes the guess work out of wondering if the mold line is completely gone or not.

great job.............After the good first polishing everything after really didn't give you much. There is a point of diminishing returns.

You're right about that, however there are a few things missing. I only had a few coats of clear and I really didn't polish it. I mean I did, but not like one normally would. I went right to my rotary to polish instead of wet sanding and THEN polish. I do aim for a smooth finish but let's be realistic, a completely smoothed paint isn't what anyone would see on most cars. I appreciate your compliment and feedback. Glad you enjoyed the video. Next time, and there will be a next time seeing I love the simplicity and quick build of this kit, I won't have a "that'll do" attitude and wet sand first before polishing, lol.

Couple of questions... What were you grinding off of the lower front chassis? And what sanding sponges were you using (I need some)? I'd have to buy some better quality buffing heads for my Dremel though; all those shedding fibers would drive me crazy! Looking real good though.

Thanks. There was a mold of plastic (maybe another version had a pedal there?) Between the pedals. You can't see the pedals once together but I knew it was there and I removed it. I have sanding sticks I bought from Amazon and also Tamyia sanding sponges. They work really well but can be expensive (as far as sanding sponges go). I use them sparingly. Mainly for body or when I need to sand a piece that has curves that I don't want to lose. The fingers do make a mess but those pads where brand new. It cleans up extremely easy. Thanks for watching my video. Hope you enjoyed it.
