Well, St. Louis lost the Hawks way back when, and then the Cards. Then the Rams. It's not a football nor basketball town.

I wish the NFL would stop playing games in London when St Louis and San Diego and Oakland have so many’s fans

One of the football magazines from back in the day had a story on the Cardinals signing Sam Etcheverry. The article was titled, "The Cards Make Merry Over Sam Etcheverry."

This was Professional Football. No dancing in the end zone, no jive talking, no Sharpys and signing a football after a score. Just cross the end line and hand the ball to the Ref. I enjoyed watching Larry Wilson. Once saw him intercept a deep ball, going away, with two broken hands.

The NFC East was and really is a true divisional rivalry in the NFL. A LOTTTT OF PLAYERS ARE FORGOTTEN FROM THESE TEAMS. I recognized certain players that were in their early seasons before I came into football. Anyway, these guys were playing good football. A bunch of north and south running by the ball carriers.

I remember them. I'm 70 now. Grew up a San Francisco 49ers fan. We only saw two games per season against any Eastern Conference team back then.

This is sure an enjoyable find on KZitem. I was just old enough to start following the NFL when they arrived from Chicago in 1960. These were the days of Sonny Randle, Bobby Joe Conrad, and Larry Wilson. Most of these players were on the team for close second place finishes in the 1960s in the East. Only St. Louis city and county government not agreeing on location for a new stadium caused the Big Red to leave STL in 1988. Shame on St. Louis. The Greatest Show on Turf Rams however were far better than the Big Red seasons and STL should have been awarded an expansion team for another new stadium STL was prepared to build when Kroenke wanted the large TV market of L.A.. I think a new owner would have been found for an STL expansion team but at least should have been tried.

Why must you insist on ruining videos like these by putting them into fake widescreen? These were NEVER shot in whidescreen and should NOT be stretched or cropped like this! You are ruining these!

The Chicago Cardinals should've never been allowed to leave the South Siders Comiskey Park! They were there before the Decatur Staleys became the Chicago Bears! Chicago's Original Football Team!

Yeah, well, maybe more than dozens of you should’ve shown up for their home games and they wouldn’t have been so eager to leave. P.S. - You’re about to lose the Sox the same way.

Strange to see a quarterback wearing #42

Not really. Chuck Connerly had that number, and 22 was Bobby Layne of the Steelers. Both had been playing since the late 40s, before numbers were organized by position. That happened in 1952. So, QBs then were to wear mostly teens or single digit numbers.
