You Sir are an artist when it comes to sheet metal!!! Very fine work. The foundation to that 64 Impala is Impeccable. Wish I had the cash to have you do mine. But I know your work would not come cheap. But it really shouldn’t. You get what you pay for and you are worth the money.

Beautiful sir, I’ve never seen butt welding through e coat, I thought it was a standard to take down all your welding points to bare metal and apply welding primer with zinc before making welds.. I’m sure how you did This is fine. This car looks great. I wish it was mine. Lol.

Beautiful work sir! I myself have a 63 and 64 impalas, is there a specific brand of sheet metal you would recommend? Or stay away from?
@guzzifabrication3448
Жыл бұрын
The one to definitely stay away from is "genuine GM parts" I have a video on that : kzitem.info/news/bejne/p4Sbq3V6iGeJaGU other than that, quality across the board on all parts is not what it was a couple of years ago....

I just finished binging the entire series on this Impala (one of my favorite all time classic cars) and I hope you still read old comments from late watchers like me. I have only one silly question after watching the entire series. Your videography and voiceover improved throughout the series. I have one question and one comment. Question: do you prefer to work in an almost peacefully quiet shop? Or do you like to work to music but left it on mute due to copyiright worries? My one comment (ironically) is that I'm in no way an expert on what you do but I have been watching videos like this for a decade. They ALWAYS get ruined by commenters suggesting that "you're doing it wrong" just from inexperience or being armchair quarterbacks. I haven't been able to watch more of your recent content, my only comment is don't let the people questioning your work cause you to feel like you need to explain to them. And therefore turning your channel from a tutorial to you defending yourself constantly ie. whoever said you need the actual frame of the car to do this. Many of the comments by viewers are super positive and in awe of your craftsmanship. As soon as you start responding to the small percentage of people who think they know better, you give them power over the rest of us who just want to watch. Not against comments with valid questions like the brake lines, and you helping answer those, it's just the ones who have no questions rather nit picks.

So if you are only replacing a partial quarter panel do you splice it at a body line if possible and do you butt weld it or use a flange Do you have any videos of doing a partial quarter Great videos you do awesome metal work thanks for taking the time to record your work .
@guzzifabrication3448
Жыл бұрын
Personally I never flange because it can cause alot of distortion, I',m going to splice the quarters on the 63 convertible ( quarters are not available ) probably butt weld. Thanks for watching !

In a shop that I worked in, when installing part of a quarter panel, the bodyman would flange the existing panel and then drill for plug welds on the new panel section. This allowed for a very flat joint and minimal filler. I wonder now, all these years later, if that was a strong as it could be. I like the way that you sectioned in that panel on the right side.

I have to ask and I know and understand every car is different but in general whats a price range in doing a car like this? Not a show car just a regular driver. Just like a general price range. I ask because I really want take my 63 to get done. I just want to know how much money do I need to get my hands on. Like I said nothing crazy just a regular I guess restoration. Any suggestion would help. Thanks in advance
