I marched with St Pats for 10 years and I’m pretty sure Bob Thompson introduced rudimental bass to us in ‘63. I just find it odd that there isn’t any here in ‘64. Regardless- Kevin’s was always a class act-as good as BS or Holy Name (Garfield). I lived (and still do) about a 15 minute walk from what was Roosevelt Stadium. Man-what a time for Drum Corps.

You are absolutely correct. The year could have been 1962. Doesn't matter, it was around that time Bobby Thompson one of the all-time great, drum instructors, I always used his left hand Pinky Comet technique former member of Floyd Bennett golden eagles Brooklyn New York, 1960 and 1961. Phone number of the Long Island sun rises 1964 through 1968. Co-founder of American Spirit senior alumni from Court Tampa Bay Florida area along with, John Dowling, may he rest in peace play we were great friends

These kids played their hearts out during this performance. They dug deep down, sucked it up, and pulled their pride up Tia new level!!

This was a great corps, and they shared of themselves to help other corps. I remember our 1963 performance at symphony hall (Majestic Knights) where we needed to borrow their percussion equipment- our truck broke down. They were more than generous to share their equipment with us. No other Boston corps would have done so.

This one should go in the time capsule, along with '65 Royal Airs, '61 Cabs and '66 Skyliners (my humble opinion)!'60s drum corps... still THE most exciting ERA (again, just the opinion of one old timer!)St. Kevins… Buzzy, Eddie and the Gaff, etc., etc. WOW!Thank you, Mr. Frost!!!

If the General Effect caption was higher in those days Kevins would have been unbeatable .

This corps has both a fresh, crisp sounding horn and percussion ensemble from 1959 through 1964 unlike any other top corps. They offer a magnificent blend of musicality.

I agree 100% competed against them several times when I was in the Floyd Bennett golden eagles out of Brooklyn New York in 60 and 61 former snare drummer st. Kevin's was in my opinion very smooth and outstanding execution in all captions.

I can see them in my mind's eye....this whole routine. Goosebumps! I'm a minister now, and a few years ago I officiated at Mr. Haywood's funeral....and saw all the old guys. Janet Haywood took her dad to the Braintree 4th of July parade every year, and Eddie marched with a corp from NJ. Mr. Haywood loved it. And, now I'm listening to Eddie's solo!
