I Love 64's. I have a nice, straight 70 Sweptline that I am converting to a 64. Love that trim, 4 headlights, chrome grille, dash, rear window, and refrigerator door handles.

Agreed! I like them all but the four eyed years are my favorites. Thanks for watching!

I wonder if anyone is producing some cool billet with hydraulic assist for these since Sweptlines are getting so popular. I know they will be Pricey, but I want a set !

Love that you are doing this!! I am trying the same. I am using my trucks original 4 speed manual trans with a 1982 new yorker 318 la

If you're going from a poly 318, there won't be many parts needed - both bolt patterns are same and both are internally balanced so you're set! The 318 is an underrated motor - I would keep mine as a 318 LA but the plan is a complete 5.9/OD swap from the '01 so guess we'll see. The original transmissions on these things are unbelievable - they're not exactly slick shifting speed parts but that transmission will probably outlive us. Thanks for watching!

@@ccathey3934 originally it had a slant 6. Im looking for a hydraulic throw out bearing to use instead of a fork system. The bell housing i got had no place for that swivel ball the fork moves on so i have no way to shift. Thats the biggest issue ive had so far. Got frustrated and then moved so i havent worked on it for years

@@oghoppers7494 I am NOT an expert on the slant 6 conversions but I don't think the transmission bellhousings are the same. Please confirm this - but you may want to look for a 318 bellhousing. It would likely be cheaper as the hydraulic (non lever setup) bearings are expensive. I have seen several external hydraulic slave setups that would be much cheaper and easier to adjust - just for consideration. The external ones were stock for the early years so you may score one with the hardware from someone doing a swap to automatic - I just sold one for the same reason.... Good luck!

@@ccathey3934 correct. I found a bellhousing for the 318 la that meets to the np435. From all the research ive done, that 318la/np435 combo only had mechanical clutches. I could be wrong though. I also got a pull in slave cylinder to try as well, just couldnt get the alignment proper. Also just thought the hydraulic throwout would be easier but yes more expensive

I think the new trans for Mopar bolt pattern. fits the poly Polys are so so cool, I seen one on engine masters 408 stroker 520 h.p.

One of the Mopar magazines does quite a bit with the poly motors. They make real good power, but I think maybe a little more expensive,

(CAM) To be honest, as a Mopar guy - we are extorted enough by the aftermarket. Small mopars are new to me - been a B/RB guy forever ... and have paid (literally) for that knowing that the platform I chose to play with is a pricey one.... I expected the small block game to be cheaper, and it is.... somewhat. In my opinion, the saving grace is the Magnum platform and its' interchangeability with the A/LA blocks. I challenge anyone to outfit a small block anything through the aftermarket with EFI, OD, AC, serpentine setup - for the cost of a junkyard pull..... The poly aftermarket is arguably more expensive than the B/RB market and it is SUBSTANTIALLY less popular (not many suppliers). I am bummed to give up the poly - it just wasn't a financially sound platform for me. I opted to sell it to someone who valued it as a stocker and moved on. The 5.9 Magnum with EFI, OD, AC, and serpentine setup that will eventually live here cost me 1k. It runs great. I will get some scrap out of the carcass of the donor so that $ will decrease and I can pick a LOT of stuff off of it to help with the swap... DEAL!
