To be honest, I think the old toilets are much better than today's toilets.

Epic toilet as always! The flush valve/flapper looks exactly like the one I remember in the Days Inn Motel in Florida on the first US trip I took when I was a little kid (my dad took the tan lid off to show me the inside and the differences to UK toilet tanks - i.e. the flush mechanism used as back then UK tanks used Flush Pistons which is a U-bend tube with a floating spring loaded piston on one side which when operating the flush handle (or chain on high tanks) pulled up the piston with a small body of water above the flapper part of the piston and as it pulled the water above the top bend in the tube then began a siphoning of the tank which lifts the flapper (as it is sprung) as the piston itself falls back down. Once tank is empty the flapper lowers to seal the opening of the piston siphon tube. UK toilets now use Flush Valves (the first was in the late 1990's but now standard since 2010) - either button operated (like some of your current gen US toilets - some of ours also use cable air filled valves which as the button(s) is pressed it shoots air through a cable to lift the valve mechanism for the respective flush - full or half flush) or handle operated (cable air filled as with the button version but pressing down the handle for full flush and lift up for the half flush). The current gen of replica high tanks uses either a Flush Piston (the only type that still does - there are dual flush pistons now where you have to hold the chain down - or handle on retrofitted earlier Low Tank or Tank Top examples for the half flush) on lever arm with chain or a Cable Air Filled Flush Valve on a handle with a solid rod with chain pull (to operate the two flush settings by pushing the rod up for the half flush)!

True as the shipping costs would be astronomical and it may get damaged in transit if not packaged properly! Hence why there are only a small number of US manufactured toilets imported to the UK from the States (ONLY the very wealthy can afford to as the shipping costs are prohibitive for the rest of us).

My grandma had one pretty much identical to this, except hers was a 1964. She replaced it back in 2020 with a comfort height Gerber toilet since she needed something taller and elongated since she was getting older. We're still stuck with that abomination of a "toilet" too.

Wish you could do this terlit and Plebe flushes side by side so we can see the differences between them. It appears that the Plebe siphon jet is closer to the trapway than in the Cadet. I d/k about the size of the siphon jet hole, shape, and rim jet differences.
