The 1965 Impala Super Sport that I owned was Mist Blue. Of all the cars that I have had, that's the one that I miss the most and wish that I still had. I sold it after I bought a 1969 Pontiac GTO convertible. Today, whenever I think of a dream car I think of that ' 65 Impala Super Sport.

So many great options back then. My Grandpa ordered a 67 Chevelle sport coupe with a Deep water blue top and Nantucket blue body. The interior was lighter blue on the bucket seats and door panels, but had a dark blue dash pad and carpets. Two tone on the inside and out. It was an amazing car and any GM in the 60s had these amazing options. Thanks for sharing!

I've got an SS convertible in Evening Orchid, but being an SS it lacks the rocker moulding incorrectly installed on the Evening Orchid SS shown in the video. Note how that car lacks the quarter panel moulding. Those mouldings were non SS Impala only, and were on both the rocker and quarter, not just the rocker.

I remember all these colors!! Saw them when my dad worked at the Saginaw Metal Plant! Mostly all Chevrolet employees had a representation of every GM color on all its 5 divisions! But mostly 98% Chevrolet cars in the parking lot!!

Nice video. There were so many more color choices in the day. I think most people ordered their cars back then rather than buying them off the lot. So, the factory didn't have to worry about producing something no one would buy. My Mom and Dad ordered a brand new '65 in Madeira Maroon with a red interior. If you go back and look at some of the marketing literature from the day, you'll see that color combination in some of it. They always called the car either "the plum," or more often, the "red Chevy." You can see the "red" in the photo provided here. Today, I have a stunning (not a factory color) red '65 SS with white interior. Both color combos are striking. I probably prefer the maroon and red for personal reasons. All that said, I think my favorite factory color for this car may be the Tahitian Turquoise. If "color" were the only factor in my decision and I was rebuilding one from the ground up, that would be my choice.

I painted a 55 Buick Roadmaster for my boss 2-tone, and I changed the metallic Color to the 65 Impala Tahitian Turqoise. (without asking him). The color scheme was well received, and another one got the same colors, and later also a 60 foot Hatteras boat.

Love the Tahitian Turquoise. How did you ever find all the pictures of all of the colors. 65 and 75 were my favorite to years of the Impala and Caprice. I had a dark chocolate brown 75 Caprice Classic convertible with a tan interior/white top. My aunt had a 65 Impala 4 door sedan in yellow with black interior. Our neighbors had a 65 4 door hardtop in white with turquoise top and interior - it was a showstopper to me as a kid.

My favorite is Evening Orchid with white interior. it's stunning., especially with a white vinyl or convertible top.I Had a '65 two door hardtop ehich i guess mine was mist Blue, though the color in the video does not match my memory i had it a little over 50 years ago.my memory matches closer to the paint sample than the vrhicle shown. I bought it used and never asked about the color name.

Mine was the Cameo Beige Impala SS. Beautiful car. It was a gift so options were limited. 283 with power glide sucked. Fender extensions in front of front wheels rusted at the seam. Lower corners of rear window collected water rusted. No drains. Today I would know how to fix with the sealers and caulk now available. My fixed at the time were temporary like todays inflation.

The folks bought an Ermine White Impala four-door sedan new in 1965. The first car they owned with air conditioning. It had a couple interesting features 1) two ashtrays in the dash instead of one and 2) in addition to the HOT idiot light, it had a COLD idiot light. Dad would wait to fire up the fan in winter (Iowa) until the COLD light went out. The interior was a two tone light/dark blue. Good car. Traded in 1969 for a Cortez Silver 1969 Impala. It would be 1974 before he bought a Caprice four-door hardtop. Always a Chevrolet, with the exception of his third car, a 1953 Ford, and his last, an Oldsmobile Intrigue.

what is the actual color code numbers if I need to buy the original paint from a store because they don't recognize the two letter codes? My 65 Impala SuperSport has the SS color code for Sierra Tan metallic brown and the paint shop is asking for a number code not SS code?
@ImpalaCadillacRestoModDIY

Hey Ruben, the paint code is only SS. I bought paint for my car from The Coating Store online. They have all the original colors list by the original paint codes. Mine was NN . They must not be familiar with old Chevy paint codes.
