1965 Mustang Fastback K Code 289 Hipo Russo and Steel Newport Beach 2014 Consignment # 8020
Listed in the K-Code Registry and of course powered by a K-Code high-performance 289 V-8, this iconic 1965 Mustang Fastback benefits from a complete frame-up restoration led by Becker Automotive Restoration with every major component professionally rebuilt and over $12
0,000 invested. Stunning inside and out, it features a virtually flawless body and correct-for-1966 Emberglo paint work complemented by an Emberglo and Parchment interior. Backed by a correct K-Code close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission rebuilt by Acclaim Transmissions, the 289 was bored 0.030 over and rebuilt to factory specifications by Phoenix, Arizona's Zimmerman Racing Engines. Features include a 310-degree solid-lifter cam, Shelby Cobra high-rise aluminum intake manifold, and a correct, manual-choke 600-cfm Autolite 4100 carburetor by Pony Carbs. The rear end is a 3.89:1 Ford 9-inch unit, again K-Code specific, rebuilt by Acclaim Transmissions. Stopping is greatly improved with a pair of Baer Racing front-disc brakes. Other outstanding features include Rally-Pac gauges with 8,000-rpm tachometer, plus items added during the restoration including a Cobra engine dress-up kit, GT Package, "Pony" Interior, an under hood Export brace, and a Monte Carlo bar. Outstanding in every respect, this true K-Code Mustang Fastback from 1965 was featured in the September 2012 edition of Mustang Monthly magazine and it has garnered a number of Best in Class awards on the show field, including the Mustang Club of America (MCA) National Show in St. George, Utah. Recently serviced by Loomis Motor Sports in Scottsdale, it simply remains a superb example of a true American icon -- in handsome 2+2 fastback form, no less!
