Probably the most honest car review I've seen. A pity the video was done 8 years ago. This little Mustang is sitting in someone's garage right now. Back in the early '70's, I was offered a car just like this, but with a 3 speed manual, for $400., and I didn't snap it up. Can you imagine? I've been kicking myself ever since.

My 97 M52B20 Inline 6 has almost 200.000 miles on, still running without problems. I thought those old simple inline six dinpsaur engines are supposed to be real milemakers...just 100.000 miles? I don't believe this.

All I was thinking was, “Who in the world thrashes a trunk up and down with the keys still in the lock!?!”. I know it may need to be repainted but deggum. Treat it with respect.

But 100,000 miles isn't that high. I reckon it would go about 250,000 miles without a rebuild. I mean my damn Fiat had a rebuild at 410,000 kilometers. Lol.

Not sure where this misconception that old cars didn't have automatics came from. Automatics have been common in cars since the 1950's. Heck most 50's american cars I see around are automatics. And not only where they common, they were often far more durable than modern autos. i had a '96 suburban, auto went out at 113,000 miles. '01 civic auto dead at 135,000. Meanwhile my '63 Mercury with the 3 speed Merc-o-matic has atleast 230,000 original miles unrebuilt and still shifting fine.
