Thanks, it was a moment of inspiration to try and save a small piece of the original caravan ❤️

Another stellar restoration. My favorite thing was that huge window at the back until we went inside and saw those cushions. Now I'm conflicted. I loved your outfit--are those jeans PINK? *swoon* Killer! Perfection with the shirt. Your color sense is second to none, and having seen a couple of your interiors it comes as no surprise. Good to see you again in another quality (and rare) posting. A Valentine to your fans. We love you too.

Thank you David for the lovely comment! Sorry I only post videos when I'm ready to post them haha. It's my way of making sure that all the content is of a high standard that I'm happy with rather than turning out a video for the sake of it.

Really interesting, Cameron. That is a very neat, well thought out rig. So many nifty features and ideas in a very small package. Please never debate whether to post a video. Every one of your videos is so interesting because the subject matter is unique and the way you talk about each one is so interesting.

Thanks Michael for your support as always. I always want to make sure that my content is of the highest possible standard. I held this video back because of some issues with the microphone and I'd not got all the shots I wanted before the rain came and stopped filming! But I'm struggling for content as it's the depth of winter here and too cold to be working on the Sprite Ariel and too wet/muddy to be filming any more tours.

Enjoyed this Cameron, you seem to be relaxing in your presenting a bit more now. Cute little van. And your MIL is very talented!

Thank you David! Ironically, I filmed this last August and was debating whether or not to post it 😂 I’m glad you liked the video. It’s a stunning little caravan.

Hi Cameron, I've been binge watching your site with great interest. Really good fun reminds me of my child hood my grandfather enjoyed rebuilding caravans and as a child my favourite was a wessex folding caravan from I think the late 40's .

Super cute, love the shape, a modern re-imagination of that could meet many pressing needs like aerodynamics and weight :) Love the work you’ve done on it.

This is exactly what I’ve always thought about it too! I think it’s a bit of a blueprint for the way forward, with a few tweaks to bring it up to date. I completely forgot to mention in the video that the floor drops between the chassis to reduce the overall height as well.

@@NotAnotherWhiteBox I did wonder whether it did something clever like that with the floor or was camera perspective, loads of fantastic innovative ideas again on show :)

Cameron. My parents had a Viking Fibreline that had reversable upholstery. It was the same pattern on each side, but different colours. I’d forgotten this fact until you mentioned it on yours.

We had a 196?2? Version. Towed it with a VW t2a. Still sorry to have sold it. I think the smaller one is called Kolibri (hummingbird) though.

Seen a picture of my Kwikstaart (Belgium licenceplate) You made a mistake. You are presenting the Zwaluw (Swallow) as an earlyer model. This is a 4 berth Kolibrie and it is not an earlyer model but build in the same period as the Kwikstaart.

Hi, is the outer skin just made of hardboard? If so, is it just the paint that stops it going soggy?

You have many good videos of fine caravans. I'm rebuilding a Polar LB from 1969 right know. I'm the 4'th owner. And have al pappers since it was knew. The sad thing it is that it was left out in the woods for 30 years. So I'm rebuilding a knew with old caravan as a template. I use quality woods. Use CAD to make drawings. But the caravan was complete and untuched. Thats was what I liked about it. Best regards Alexander Olsson, Sweden

Well presented Cameron. As a 6'3" person I'm not sure if this would be the caravan for me ! . If I could make 1 comment its that I would have tried to fit a replacement spar of wood in the rear window to keep the originality ( but I also understand costs involved ). Keep up the good work in keeping heritage caravans on show for all of us.

Super quirky & odd but all in a good way brilliant video as always very interesting to watch, just a quick question have you ever thought of getting a reprint of the original material done? I'm sure there is a company in Cheshire that can do it, although I must say the quick hack making them reversable is a good idea too.

Thanks Tich, I've looked at reproducing original material before, it's very expensive so I'd only do it on a caravan that I would want to keep forever

Mind you there's probably some more modern prints that could just as well suit the era, one would have thought the same patterns not merely confined to caravans but used for house curtains and upholstery too probably found in charity shops.

Do you think modern gas hob, oven, and a Thetford loo could be retro fitted to a vintage caravan?? Thanks!
@NotAnotherWhiteBox
3 жыл бұрын
Yes it's possible, but it depends on the caravan. I wouldn't bother with a modern gas hob really as they can be more trouble than they're worth.
