The 67-68 Cougars were the best looking muscle cars of the 60’s, in my opinion. I love my 68 Cougar XR-7 and will never trade her in. Better looking than a Mustang or Camaro.

I'd say, more feline than muscular...now, my '69 Drag Pack 428-SCJ Mach 1 is anything but feline.

It also turns out that the smoke you see at the top of the track was caused from trans fluid spilling out from the factory vent and onto the headers. It has since been repaired by threading the tail shaft for a #4 AN, 90 degree fitting, a bit of #4 line extending to a small breather above the bell housing. Since this addition, no more smoke.

Sure, I have no secrets. It’s a 71 Windsor block, 393 stroker with 11.7 to 1 compression ratio. AFR 205 heads, a Howard’s solid roller cam, from the catalog 259/267° of duration at .050, Victor Jr. intake, a custom 850 CFM carburetor and custom-made 1 7/8” headers. It’s run through a C4 transmission with a 5000 stall converter and 4.11 rear gears. I shift it at 7000 RPM. At the time of the Dyno, I’ve added a Super Victor. Should be an improvement over the Jr.

Wow, you did low 10's on a 205 head? Thats impressive. I was looking at the 220 heads "hoping" I could do that. There is hope for me after all!! If your still checking comments, why didnt you go 408 instead if 393 out of curiosity?

That is cooking! Always wanted one...never had the extra funds to have more than 1 at a time though Nice job. Hard to break 10s period but 10.4 is smokin!. What size stroke does that use?

hav heard that some early"factory"gto was able to get below 11seconds. Seems all the more remarkable considering all of the doctoring of this little beast.
