My husband had this car his dad bought for him on his 16th birthday in 1981. He owned it for 19 YEARS! It ran and ran and ran and ran. 3 on the tree column shift. Had a lot of zip. He LOVED that car. Glad you have one.

my dad bought a brand new 1967 Toyota Corona Deluxe in Honolulu when we moved to Hawaii. I was barely a teenager. We kept it for 6 years, even shipped it to California when we moved back to the mainland. Man how I miss that car. Your video really brought me back. Thanks so much. I especially remember the turn signal lever as the horn rim, which slid left . . . or right. Way cool. Good restoration job!

This was my first car in 1972. Paid $800.00. Drove it for years. Love the bench seat in the front. Been loyal to Toyota ever since. Wife Owned an American made car....GM Pontiac 1997. What a piece of junk.spent thousands on repairs. Sold it to her mother for a dollar$1.00.

I purchased one of the first Coronas sold in Albuquerque. Traded in a 1966 Dart that I special ordered with disc brakes, four on the floor and high performance engine. That Hamtramck piece of shit was the sorriest vehicle I ever owned. Nothing fit, the wiring for the back-up lights was missing from the wire loom, the back-up light switch on the back of the transmission was crossed threaded and leaked from day one. Dealer was never able to correct all the things that were wrong with that Detroit piece of shit. The Corona was just the opposite. It's fit and finish was far superior to any Big Three junk and everything worked. My teacher friends called it the Coyote as they had never heard of Toyota. Drove it for five years and wish I still had it just to tinker with. It was a vehicle you could work on.
