This is my good friends 1968 Coronet. He actually bought it by accident on Ebay a few years back... but decided to roll with it. He spec'd the engine out (picked all the components) and built the engine to be an honest naturally aspirated street/strip engine. The engine is a 496" stroked Chrysler 400. The engine was dyno's by Mike Janis at Jan-Cen Racing Engines and made 560HP/600Ftlbs. in street trim with an 870cfm Holley Street Avenger and 575Hp/640Ftlbs. with my 950 Quickfuel. This engine makes its peak power way down low at 5300RPM and the combo runs on pump fuel. This car was set up to drive anywhere or to any track, make runs and then drive home. Here he ran 7.68@92.5 MPH with tire spin off the line. With good traction this car will hit 7.50's in the 1/8mile and 11.70's in the 1/4 mile. He is happy with it for now but left many openings for upgrades down the road.
