Had a buddy in High School that bought a 67 Valiant Signet, 273, 4 speed, brand new. Always liked it. Had a bumper sticker made that said "You Sure Didn't Taste Like A V8 ". He was able to embarrass quite a few big block cars. Wish I could find one today that I could stuff a 340 into.

The big block cars he raced were not racing him...My buddies 68 Newport 383 2barrel,single exhaust and 2.94 rear would eat those 273 Valiants..My uncle owned a Chrysler-Plymouth dealer and a salesman buddy had a Valiant 273 4bbl,4 speed and 3.55 gears and still was slower than a 383 2 barrel low compression Newport..The Newport ran high 14's to 15 flat with tools and full tank of fuel, high 14's with 1/8th of a tank..

@@mypronouniswtf5559 I’m talking street racing, light to light on a street where the lights were a block apart. It didn’t even come close to 1/4 mi, but we called it the “gut” and everybody was racing up and down it every weekend.
