Build slideshow of a "Das Liddle Stik" model as published in the May 1968 issue of RCM Magazine. The "Liddle Stik" is a scaled down version of the original Ugly Stik published two years earlier in 1966.
All parts were redesigned for CNC cutting. Except for adding main spar doublers, a sheeted center section, wing-mounted servos, and bolt-on wings - the original design was left generally intact. The original plans & article call for a .19-.45 engine (a SuperTigre .35 was used on the prototype). Commercial spinoffs like the Midwest Little Stik and Great Planes Big Stik 20 were based around .20s. I settled on a SuperTigre .29 for mine. It is covered with a mix of Ultracote and Monokote, the wingspan finished up at 46.5" and weighs in at just a little over 3.5lb without fuel.
Flight videos to follow.
