The therapeutic value of reliving past glories is vastly underappreciated :-)

This video contains some still images in addition to the video of the game. Each still image will be displayed for only 3 seconds so that not much time is wasted for those that don't care about the images. But for those that would like to spend more time looking at the images, just pause the video when the images that you are interested in are displayed.
(A note about the audio clips included: The audio clips came from discussions we had when we were inducted into the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. The clips at the beginning and end of the video feature Coach Jim Weber. Also included is an audio clip where Mike Reif tells Loren Rustem and me a story about Kirby Goodwin blocking for Mike. In the clip, Mike says the play he is describing happened in the Sandusky game. But we don’t have the Sandusky video. So I included the story here.)
The 6-2 defense, which Coach Weber invented, was designed to look like a defense with 6 linemen & 2 linebackers. But after the ball was snapped, it turned into an 8-man line. The ends were responsible for outside containment, as offenses would expect. But here’s what opposing offenses didn’t expect. Each pair of linebackers/tackles/guards executed their own set of stunts on each play. Each linebacker would call an “I” word for his guard & tackle to pinch inside, an “S” word to split them (guard in & tackle out) or an “O” word to have them both veer to the outside. Then in each case, the linebacker would fill the hole in the line that the stunting of his guard & tackle created. The 6-2 was very effective at defending runs and generating strong pass rushes.
00:53 Robert Warnick (# 52), our center, had his only pass reception of his career for a gain of 1 yard.
01:51 I (# 22) had a crushing block on their left defensive tackle:-)
05:59 Start of the second half. (Unfortunately, we no longer have video of Frankenmuth’s first touchdown drive which was set up by a 42-yard punt return by Mike Reif (# 42). Robert Warnick (# 52) threw a nice block on the punt return to allow Mike to get to the outside down the right sideline. On the last play of the first half, Rick List (# 85) scored on a 5-yard pass from Chris Nuechterlein (# 14).)
06:31 Start of Frankenmuth’s second touchdown drive: 47 yards, 12 plays. Dale Weiss (# 30) scored the touchdown on a 3-yard run.
07:14 Loren Rustem (# 70), Mark Schiefer (# 84), Dave Trinklein (# 31), Dale Weiss (# 30) and I (# 22) threw key blocks that allowed Chris Nuechterlein (# 14) to get into the end zone. But the touchdown was called back.
11:44 I (# 22) chopped down Caro’s defensive end helping Dave Trinklein (# 31) make a nice gain down the left sideline.
