A case study of brilliant marketing -- from a dainty woman's cigarette to macho cowboy smokes in twenty years. Marlboro was originally marketed to women before WWII. It was filterless, but had a heavy paper tip on one end to lessen lipstick smudging. With the smoking health scare of the early 50s, Philip Morris changed the brand to a filtered product available in a stiff, flip top package to compete with Winston. At first, the ad campaign had a jazz theme, but quickly hitched itself to the cowboy TV show craze of the late 50s.

You are young and smoke a cigarette at a bar that someone gave you. You think "It's such a small buzz, how could anyone get addicted to this." A couple smokes at the bar turn to several. Several at the bar turn into a few when you are sober. A few when you are sober turn into buying your first pack. Buying your first pack turns into a full blown addiction. Now you get to spend the rest of your life terrified of cancer and COPD, but too addicted to stop. Until one takes your life. Don't pick it up kids. It is a bitch of an addiction. Funny you mentioned this. Altria, the owners of Marlboro again have tried to take down a commercial......claiming "Copyright" I just showed KZitem that Altria doesn't own this music. KZitem sided with me!

these kinds of products, the manufacturer themselves know they're bad for you. So, they don't show the products itself. Sell the idea, the lifestyle... like Marlboro always do.

Cigarettes are the greatest evil, I've tried to quit so many times, out of breath, I know, it's destroying me, but switched to vaping, I feel so much better, I know I'm an nicotine addict, but thank god for e cigs, the danger of vaping is, you actually never wanna quit, but it's so much better than cigarettes
