Oldsmobile made the finest cars in the world. It was the death knell of GM when they got rid of that division.

My 1968 Olds 98 was a great auto, mine had no A C but was fast, safe and could get 26 mpg. One of the best cars I ever owned; next was a 1971 98 and a great car too. Next came a 1984 98 little down sized but another GREAT car A I think that was the end of the best OLDSMOBILE S.

This was exactly my ‘almost 1st car’ in ‘98. The man down the street from my grandma was selling this 15 year old garage kept beauty for only $3500 then. Dad thought it was too big for me; I told him he was too old. Olds 98 ‘68 in 98, green on green. This is the epitome of a working man’s luxury vehicle.

This is takes me back to 2000 when this was my first car. I was just 14 when my dad bought it for me and I learned to drive on his 79 Caprice Classic. I had a white "town sedan" version of the 68' Olds Ninety-Eight with that 455 Rocket under the hood. My interior was not as nice as yours, all roll up windows and manual locks with a weird bluish green velour interior and black vinyl top. 36k was on the clock. That baby would roll too😁. I really want to find another or a Caddy of the same vintage. A neighbor had a Buick Wildcat. Been a huge fan of full-size GMs since and I now own 3!

All the cars mentioned are smooth rides. For that era I had a 66’ 98 LS and a 70’ Olds 88 it had the 455. Several Oldsmobile year models after that.

Nice car!! I’m had a ‘67 98 w/427 engine I believe and then a ‘69 98 w/455 2 barrel and it had police interceptor transmission which had a button just above the accelerator. You could be doing 100-110, let off has, push button and stomp on gas and she would fly!! Don’t know how fast it was but speedometer needle was straight down and to the left a little!!! We figure about 150+

I prefer the pillored Luxury Sedan but this is still a beautiful example of GM design excellence from the mid to late 60s. My favorite 98 LS years were 1966 to 1968

@@Everetttango1it definitely went faster than 100. My dad was stationed in Germany and the army paid to have his Olds shipped. I remember picking it up with him from Bremerhaven. When my mom drove it on the autobahn, she would routinely and effortlessly drive over 110 mph. It definitely had plenty more grunt. It was such a big car 100 mph seemed like 60. 😂
