Nice job. I have a Gruen myself that I serviced and I am getting an amplitude of 540 and great timekeeping so I am happy. I would only change the spring wire if I had to. But I salute your work.

really love your videos on the Atmos. TimeSavers has the best price on the suspension springs, do you use them, or have another source you could share? Thanks, Joaquin PS I ordered the atmos repair book from Amazon that you recomended, WOW, what a great source of info. thanks, again.

Sorry I did not mean it hits the banking pins, If the rollers amplitude is 360 degrees it will come around and hit the other side of the fork won't it? Also interesting fact is that in most barreled mainspring clocks if the spring is compressed in like a new Atmos spring, that would be called "Set" and all the power is gone. It must open at least three times the barrel, but not so in an Atmos, right? Thanks for your timely answers. Joaquin

The roller doesn’t hit the fork, the fork throws the roller. Loose springs have low energy in these clocks.

@@watchguyAtmos but if the amplitude is over 360 wouldn't that mean that the pendulum is rotating a complete circle? And then the roller would hit the fork? Sorry for the dumb questions. Thanks, Joaquin

The overhaul process isn’t for everyone. Some have attempted the process with success. Most clockmakers avoid working on these clocks. I’d be more than happy to assist you. You can visit my website at atmosclockrepairs.com for my prices and contact information. I do understand the videos make the overhaul appear to be easy. I can assure you these are difficult clocks to repair.

a 360 degree rotation would bring the roller back to its starting point, but it would have to hit the banking pin also. So how can you get more than 360, you are getting 530 by counting the motifs. But I watched the spokes on the balance and it turned a full one and a half rotations. I am a little confused. Any help would be appreciated. thanks, Joaquin

There are no banking pins the impulse roller will hit.
