My stepfather had a 69 Thunderbird. candy apple red all original 19,000 miles on the odometer. still had the factory stickers on the dash. my stepfather usually drove pretty slow but when he got in the tbird he would let her rip.

My brother had the same model and colour but with a vinyl roof. He bought it around 1980? I think, he paid $900 Canadian for it. Beautiful car always loved the T-birds.

a classy hot-rod. Just looks odd to me. I see a rich, older guy with side-burns & a leather jacket driving this thing in 1969!

It was definitely not a kids car. For a upscale driver heading to a Mercury or Lincoln.

Same, but i also have a 69 tbird. Was debating on selling it but since it needs so much attention i may talk myself out of it during the restomod. Wish i had a better line on parts though.

I wish it had A/C but I'm really glad it doesn't have the power windows or seats. Those had a tendency to go bad and the replacement parts are terribly expensive if you can get them at all. As far as the passenger side mirror that was an extremely rare option for this car and I have never seen one. And trust me you don't need cruise control on this.

who ever painted it needs to go back to school .. looks like ka ka even in this video... My 68 was all original and the 429TJ was rated at 365hp just 10 less than the Cobra Jet (same year) and the exhaust is missing the resonators that go up in each rear quarter panel.. so that sucks... not as quiet as it should be... and I wonder if they got rid of the H pipe because it's cheaper to replace the exhaust without it...

I just saw this video was still up. I bought this car from Calvin 2 years ago just after he posted this video and he was a great guy to work with. This is the sweetest ride. I had one when I was in high school and always missed it. I am never selling this and will likely pass it on to one of my children. Also if you look on the wikipedia page for this gen Tbird the previous owner must have submitted a pic because there is a picture of the back seat of a 69 bird and it is this same car (check out the hulu girl in the back window). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Thunderbird_(fifth_generation)
