Hi there, the old Tridents & Rocket 3s had/have a fantastic sound loud yes but never offensive. Here in the UK there was a company called Campbell Geometrics that made an exhaust [most unbaffled] systems for these machines. A friend had a Rob North Trident on the road with one of their systems on it. There is a company only 10 miles away from the original site by the name of : Campbell Custom Exhausts based in Orpington Kent. Post code BR6 7RH. I think there still a connection to the original company that was in Dartford Kent. 50 years ago they were expensive, do not know what they are like now.

A missed oppurtunity by the British bike industry. Too little, too late. Enter the Honda 750 four, game over! It could have been such a great bike, developed, improved and other bikes with four cylinders that could have competed with the Japanese would have evolved from it, but no! Unions, top heavy unimaginative management and lack of investment in the right areas, killed the British bike industry!

Not great oil leaks. Not great Amal carbs. Not great Lucas electrics. Not great 4 speed trans. Not great vibration. It might sound great, but that's a fairly high price to pay for the sound. Unless you just wanna sit in your driveway revving it.

Pardon me, but i have to disagree. Tripples have Lucas, electronics, Amal carbs, 4 speed boxes until t150v, they do vibrate, and leak oil more than twins. The high price is not necessarily when purchasing but is paid in the time or money, possibly both, to keep one in perfection. This is how a 1969 t-150 sound has a fresh top end and is used daily.
