1969 Triumph Vitesse 2 Litre Mark 2 Convertible
The Triumph Vitesse was introduced in May 1962. The name harked back to the pre-war Triumph models that were offered between 1936 - 38. Originally powered by a 1600cc 6 cylinder unit, the model received an upgrade in 1966 when the engine capacity was enlarged to 1998cc.
A further revision was to take place in October 1968 which included improvements to the rear suspension which enhanced the handling and road holding. Also different was the new radiator grille and hubcaps - these following the design of the then popular ‘Rostyle” wheels used on a number of cars at the time.
With their 24-foot turning circle (The same as a London taxi) these cars were always easy to park in tight spaces, which added to their appeal when used in towns and cities.
This Sebring White example of the 2 Litre Convertible was extensively restored some years ago and remains in very good order in all respects.
A substantial file of documentation shows the car to have been extremely well maintained.
The hood is virtually new and there is the correct hood cover and a tonneau cover. A wood rim steering wheel is fitted, however the original wheel is included. There is also the original driver’s handbook.
The car was first registered in Surrey in July 1969.
A delightful and extremely capable convertible which is ready to be enjoyed.
