I had a '67 Dart, I love Darts, with a 170 slant 6 and three in the tree. That baby had the smallest carb I've ever seen. Oh, the cars I had when I didn't know what I had. It was at the time just a used car, you know what I mean. Got my license in December '73 just in time for the first gas crisis, whoopie! Man we were buying up 60's cars for $300, $400 bucks, and real nice ones too because everyone was dumping them to get on the import bandwagon. If we only knew...

Ive had 3 of the old C-bodies. Love 'em, this one is rare in production number. I could never own it because I'd be the guy make an A38 service car. So, it's best I dont own a rare, oddball (not in a bad way) such as this Fury I. I dont heavily customize or butcher, but I have a '76 Valiant sedan that sports a 4-speed OD, 3.55 SG 8.75 (489 case), 12" rotor swap, sway bars, 340 suspension, HD cooling, passenger door mirror, dual exhaust...other minor details; some stock, some added, but looks factory to most everybody.

The ignition static on that AM radio should calm down a bunch once the hood goes on. Just make sure the hinges have a good electrical bond. (Based on my experience with my 71 Satellite!)

My first car was a 1967 Fury III with the 318 and fully loaded with A/C. It was a good cross country cruiser. Later I had a 1966 Dodge pickup with the 225 slant six and manual transmission. It did well with the 55 mph National speed limit. I do like the fuselage body style Fury best. I would love to have a Fury Sport with the 383 or 440. Or any Fury coupe. Or any cheap Fury I could find.

AM radio won't come in when you have electrical lines along side the road. However, at night, you can pick up AM stations 1,000 miles away when not around electric lines. That's a great quiet smooth runner. It will take you mile after mile if maintained right and Not pushed hard.

@@shedman7323 I collect and restore old CB and ham radios, and while it is frustrating at times, the reward earned from vanquishing the gremlins (no, not the cars, that video is in the making...) is well worth the effort. I would have changed out the steering column, driveshaft, removed that weak 3rd peddle, chucked the slant six and stuffed a 383 from a 68 in there with the HD torque flight. And HD springs all around. A lot of work, but worth the effort. But that's just me.

The first car I was ever in from what I know was my Grandfather’s 1969 Plymouth Fury III Four door pillared sedan when I brought home from the hospital in 1970. This above car is so much similar. I have a question, this above Chrysler compared to its competitors, the Chevrolet, Biscayne, Ford Custom I will even throw in a stripped version of an AMC Ambassador as well. (AMC Ambassador advertised a police package around this era 1969/70). Out of these four, does anyone know which was the best car during its day? I know Chrysler was always famous for its handling. That’s one of the reasons why police departments chose the Chrysler, but putting that aside, as far as engine durability or transmission, which one was the best?
