I remember wearing these!! We used to crochet them with tie dye yarn, yes, back then you could buy tie dyed yarn, it was the hippie era after all, and of course fringe, fringe everywhere, and we made ours with VERY long fringe I'm talking ungodly long fringe! I think 1 1/2 feet. lol 😂

Oh, that came out so well! It's just gorgeous! VERY '70s! And you nailed those sunflower colours, Corinna! In regard to wanting someone, anyone, to notice something I've made that's fabulous (in my mind, lol) when I wear it out... GUILTY! hahahaha😂! It ain't just you, kid, I do it, too! And I would bet most of your subs do, too! If I were you, I'd be wearin' that shawl out SOMEwhere the very second the temperature drops enough that I wouldn't melt under it! I'd probably wear it to a couple of places in a row to increase my odds of being noticed, lol! Thanks so much for another awesome vintage pattern. Best channel on KZitem! ❤ xx

I love your channel bc crochet is my passion since schooltime. For Christmas I always make crochet works for my family. So I am very happy with this project for autumn/wintertime. When it is done with a lighter yarn and smaller crochet hook, I suppose to do it with the same pattern and same amount but it will take longer time to finish it. The negative thing about the 60/70s is that they used to work with synthetic yarn. Your channel is gorgeous ❤

♿️ Yes, I also enjoy wear my crocheted creations out in the public. At my doctor's office is when people tell me stories about that one family member who knitted socks for everyone. Children love to stand next to me and watch a left handed lady use a hook to make something pretty. I get people to relax at the blood lab which is nice for me as well. And one older gentleman just a few weeks ago was about to cry when he told me about losing his wife. I think she crocheted from her wheelchair. I've given out more crocheted slippers than I can count during Christmas. I even slide a Bible verse or two into their plastic bags. Thank you for your videos. I remember these old patterns but never had the time or money to make them. 🪥🧶🌻

That is a very creative way to bring in multiple colors, and it looks great. A spring variation may be to use the same golden yellow for the main shawl, and the filet/netting in the lighter yellow and fringe, like a dandelion, and perhaps 1-3 leafy-green tassels just at the corners and point. I'm going to see if I have all the sunflower colors, though, as I'm sure my mom would like this a lot.

You can modify it however you want! And you won't hear any complaints from me about an excess of 60s and 70s patterns. I love them! ✌❤🧶 Also, boy do I have gauge envy!
