it is nice to see a restoration of an "Average" condition car and not some desert lived rustfree car, takes true skill and patience to replace so much metal and get the panels to line up correctly without a jig. also nice to see you getting your boy involved and teaching him some good Skills.

Gotta love that Paint Over Rust-15. Looking forward to the next video! PS....Ive been using POR-15 for 30 years. Other then removing surface rust scale, you really dont need any other surface prep. The whole idea is to paint over rust. It seals the oxidized metal and inhibits rust.

As long as it is clean and lightly rusted POR-15 seems to stick very well even without all the prep. On my Scout I did the acid etch and phosphorous prep on new metal and rusted metal I just knocked off the scale, wiped it with acetone, and put the POR-15 on directly. I guess time will tell but for now both have held up just fine after several years of driving the Scout around.
@rustbucketrestos6511

Absolutely! I’ve never known any different. POR stands for paint over rust right? Not paint over degreaser & acid etch 😂. I didn’t know any difference. Gives me & the 2 people they complain every time a little more peace of mind I guess. 😎🤘

@@rustbucketrestos6511 Not to mention most of those interior panels were bare metal from the factory... if it only has a little scale after 50 years I think any kind of protection will be just fine.

I've watched all the segments for this build and never ceases to amaze me with your "get it done" confidence. Have you done more than the Charger before, when it comes to Mopars? I have a Demon to do and it's not quite as extensive as the BCuda but still a challenge.

It's not necessary to use POR's UV topcoat to protect the base layer. You can overspray the base layer while it is still tacky. The base layer will bond with the overcoat so you can use whatever color you want and for a lot cheaper too.

Nice job fitting the panels, as for the POR-15, there is a rust inhibitor called Blue Steel, I used it at the Transit depot I worked at and it's just like POR but cheaper than Por and for me it's free wink-wink, I used it on my Camaro sub frame and underside in the same manner you did on the Cuda, JLYK and thanks for the motivation, can't wait for your next video

So, it looks like you need to start from the most forward mounting point of each panel, line that up first and then work your way back to align the rear panels to the inner structure. Looks like I need to invest in some tools like clamps and sheet metal screws, drill bits.
