Really nice car Jay, gorgeous black on black. My brother had one and always remembered how it drove so nice, yet it would get up and go. Hope all is well as it can be for you Jay, our heart goes out to you and your family!

Another perfectly shown and described Volo car. One of GMs greatest production models of the era. Whoever ordered this car had awesome choice in options .... Great colors in and out ... highway gears too!! Watching this one turn under the lights is a real testimony of its straightness, as well as the obvious love and care it has recieved. Looking at the gaps, chrome and even right down to the routing of the exhaust ... This sort of detail only proves out the quality of care it's obviously received. Definitely a car that anyone would be proud to own, drive and show!! Thank you for sharing another great Volo car.

Beautiful 442. I had a 1969 when I was single. When I got married the wife didn't like it because it was loud, rode rough and no air conditioning. When I handed over the keys to the new owner, I immediately had sellers remorse. I still have the same wife though. She is a keeper.

Did she like the car before you were married? In a perfect world you could have had both or just marry a woman that has her own car.

@@scotmandel6699 She had a 1980 Buick Regal with the most anemic V6 engine known to man. It had all the creature comforts but it couldn't pass itself on the highway. We didn't keep the regal very long.

Hi Jay, hope you're all doing well. The 442 was made an option package for 1972, not a model, so presumably that's why it may not be in the VIN?

I thought one of the “4s” in 442 s meant it had a 4 speed? Beautiful car. Sounds great too.

The original concept was 4-speed, 4 barrel carb and dual exhaust. They produced automatics from the get go.

Depends on the year. Each year had a different meaning. They really were one of the better quality of GM "A" bodies! I actually own a real W-29 1972 442, paid $3500 for it 22 years ago!
