WOW! Memories; I bought a Yenko Stinger Vega in Huachuca City, Az in '77 when I was stationed there. Was Really! hoping this was its twin. Bummer, mine was white with black logos but it also had a turbocharger from Yenko. Really loved that car but had to sell to another soldier in Germany when I returned stateside for hardship discharge. Thanks for your post.

Pretty cool, I didn't know Yenko did a Vega and then the S10 was born and here we are.

When these cars came out, who would have thought that the Vega would be a highly praised car in the future, especially a wagon version? Cool that someone took care of it all those years.

I had a 1976 Vega. It was bone stock and the engine used a quart of oil between oil changes. The starter went out one week and the alternator went out the next week. A friend offered me $500 for it and I sold it. That was 1987. LOL

This was a V6 transplant. No Vega ever came with a V6. The Chevy V8 was the more common swap. No idea why someone opted to put in a V6.

Possible pulled the V6 out of a Monza witch shared many of the same parts.

V6 is a perfect swap to put in a Vega. Given the small size of the Vega... a V6 would still be a powerful choice. I'd be happy with a V6 powered Vega... plus the V6 would be shorter the the V8 so you'd have more room under the hood for the fan blade and belts and the radiator and everything. If General Motors would had made a V6 option for the Vega... they would had sold more Vegas back in the 1970's because the aluminum 4 cylinder engine that was standard on the Vega was crap.

There's a few clicks and rattles that says; suspension / direction work. Engine sounds basically stock. There was a strip of tape on the right side back window which means there was a leak at some point. SO not mint for sure.

@@boldbeliever52 It is amazing people do not know they made a Yenko Vega and assume they know better without even doing a modicum of research and taking 10 seconds to do a quick search ‘ Yenko Vega ‘ SMH

The only OXYMORON is the person that called him that. This is a nice clean little Vega station wagon. A friend of mine had one that was orange with the white stripe, a 72 GT with a 350 c.i. Chevrolet engine, automatic transmission and a narrowed 12 bolt and had the axles redrilled to be 4 lug, so he could use the factory GT wheels. Nice sleeper, but the bad thing was that it really couldn't get traction on 13 inch tires. Excellent build though.

@@gordonstroup882 sorry, dude…. A “high-performance” stock Vega is, in fact, a contradiction. I owned several stock. One had a 4bbl 390cfm Holley, Offenhauser dual port 360 manifold, bi-Y headers, etc. Even that would give a “relaxing” 0-60 time by today’s moderate standards!

@@TomPauls007 , I'm pretty sure that no one is comparing any older vehicles to modern technology. That is ludicrous. Are you a youngster, under 40? Us older guys and gals, back in the day could only compare with what was around back then.
