Great job, I must say though it is bitter sweet after all the years I was the custodian of both of those Z car's sense the early eighty's. They were both bone stock when I acquired them and can't tell your audience how much I enjoyed them over the years. But do to medical issues and the hands of time it was time to pass the torch and let someone else enjoy them and bring them back to life. I am blessed that they are in Dick's capable hands bring them back or resurrect them from the dead . Watch what he does with the 1970 V8 Z-car she's got all the goody's. One mite think " why have too Z-car's ? And I would say if I can't beat you in one of my Z-car's I'll bring one that can. 😁

I Loved watching this, I saw the NM plates, in 1975 I bought a 1973 240Z from Malloy Datzun, It was brown with a vinyl top never saw another one that way. Also mine had to carbs that looked like stainless steel cans.I sure wished id kept it. I paid $6200 for it back then.

Amazing work for a home build. Your content is super underrated. You cover so much in one video. Most younger car KZitemrs would make a 30 min video just on installing those emblems.

The 'Z' looks awesome, I remember the day you pulled it out of the yard. And like your methodical way you tackled the restoration, nothing 'over the top', just plain and simple. Will check out the other 'Z' for sure. Cheers from New Zealand.

2:00 FYI there's a reproduction "hatch hinge boot" that is now available. They keep water and debris from getting up in the roof.

What a great video. Just found your entire series of this car today. It makes me sooo jealous. You don’t know me and I don’t know you, but I love your car! I’ve been saving up and looking for a 240Z for over 10 years now but the value of them rises more than I’ve been able to save up… but maybe one day. What are those weeks and which suspension specs are you running? The fitment of ride height + wheels is exactly what I’d go for if I ever managed to get hold of a Z. // Nic from Sweden

Amazing job sir! you are very methodical, quick and informative. I've enjoyed watching you restore this 240Z and look forward to the next one. I did miss you doing the sealing process on the Epsilon wheels.....curious what you used and would have liked to have seen the process. I've restored a set of 3 piece BBS RS for my 240Z and will be doing the assembly process as well. Thank you!

Thanks for the comments. I did not break the rims apart, they were sealed with some kind of silicone and it was in great shape so when I took the centers out I put a couple bolts in place to hold them together while I cleaned and painted them.

Nice looking Z, Dick. By any chance are you in Albuquerque? I get down there from time to time, and would love to drop by and say hello (I live in Ft. Collins).

Beautiful restoration, but a question I have and I may be wrong but I thought 240z came with a solid 1 piece taillight garnish and 280z came with a 3 piece tail light garnish or is it an after market addition?

After that much time, energy, money, etc. as you put into it I think I'd put it on a trailer and tow it to shows. Seems almost a sin to get any dirt on it. 👍

Thanks for watching. I bought the bumpers off eBay. They are polished stainless steel and the quality was very good. Here is a link but there are several sellers of these. www.ebay.com/itm/275573872345?hash=item40297b96d9:g:bfMAAOSwog9jlES4&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAsP9O1nTo2MhObR25yPCmcB3s7u9F0vPHIYQdXRDeHV9F8VB4UUlEcEN7g0jA49L%2BFskLuwjhmYrEb%2FGk%2FLs2WjPiWGJ%2BGVrWZvf%2F5gPU2kGWkIKTX39xRzcYhMzkO6X5ywlQKlVXktqV%2BFRwthPNY%2BhXa7o7SR63YLW6GPaSJxta1jv1SNHEX%2FbJ8w8nHHWWpC2VQM9bE2yKcvLKSRMYGFv51BeXDTWSnzc7tl463YMS%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR6CJo4vTYQ

Is that a factory passenger-side door mirror you are installing at 10:15??? I have been looking for one of those for 30 years!!! To my knowledge they would have only been available in Japan and the UK for right-hand drive models, but in Japan I think the mirrors were different and mounted on the front fenders. If you have a source for that mirror, I'd appreciate it.
