I started singing this song since I was 10 years old at the schools, amateur contest, including radio station. Now, my daughter sings it wonderfully! She has a Master's Degree in Music Education from Miami University. I am very proud of her in keeping the song in her generation. Her name is Ligaya.

There's a point back then when I no longer hear this song. They even stopped playing it on the radio later on. I grew up in Olongapo and jukeboxes were everywhere. Once in a while I get lucky to find some Larry Miranda records awaiting replacement to give way for current hits but remained untouched, thanks God. All of a sudden I started hearing Pilita's version which satisfied my longing to hear the song again regardless of whoever sings it. Pilita was very popular then and she made some slight alteration to the song's tune and nobody complained. I myself started to fall in love with her version but I still can relate more with Larry Miranda's. Maybe because it's his version that brings back happy childhood memories to me. Wonder if your daughter Ligaya sings it the way Pilita did or remains loyal to the original arrangement. As I mentioned earlier I love the song regardless of whoever sings it. Thanks and may you have a blessed New Year. By the way, I added your dad's name to the item's description as the lyricist. Just giving credit to where credit is due. Thanks again.

You're very welcome Raul. People like you are the ones who inspire and motivate people like me to dig more rare Pilipino classic items that may no longer see the light of day due to declining patronage and enthusiasm among some of our kabayans who lately prefer to listen to foreign music more than our own.

My father Eduardo P. de Leon was the lyricist for this song, composed by his brother Felipe R. de Leon.

Emmanuel de Leon I feel honored that the composer’s son of the music I admired would put comment on my humble YT account. Thank you.

Dinadalit translated as 'inaawit', as love being expressed in singing as an expression instead of vocalizing it.

It was wonderfully interpreted by Pilita Corrales. No other singer I believe could interpret it the best. May the descendants of the composer of the song received more endless blessings!🌹🙏

Thank you very much for the recognition! I know my father (RIP) and the whole family will appreciate it. My daughter sings it the original way. In fact, she sang Sapagkat Mahal Kita on her recital at the college, and other songs in different languages (Italian, French, Russian, Germany). May you have a Happy and prosperous New Year!

As the right person more familiar with the lyrics, you may want to give me some little lecture/s on what "dinadalit" means. I understand everything except that particular word. I love digging/exploring meanings of anything too high sounding for me. May not be for some, sorry.
