I think that mystery piece you have is a stand to go under the car to elevate the front end. I think the intent is to have the car as it would be taking off from the starting line. I think then, you would place the front tires in the lower hole since there would be no weight on the front suspension. Nice build. I have been waiting for this kit for a long time.

Yet another great video build! Thanks so much for taking the time to describe these kits with honest critiques with out beating down for a bit of flash. The ideas I've learned from watching your videos has brought back the joy I felt as a kid bulding for the pure joy of having that "car I wanted" in my stable. Kudos for all the encouragement you provide us all.

Nice hpiguys. Model building has been more then just a pastime for me. It's a passion. Started when I was 11. I'm 64 now. Slowing down a bit. I have a wall of models. At one time they all would have been built by now. I still have the desire. But my body say's otherwise. Anyways. A heartfelt thank you for your builds. Especially these of my youth as drag racing was a world of my own. Not so much today. God Bless

Oh, by the way, thanks for the write-up on the history of the Chevy Vega in your header section! Never owned a Vega, but did own a V-8 Monza. Yanked the anemic 305-cid engine in favor of a slightly worked 400-cid sbc. It was a torque monster! 😄👍🇺🇸

Another great job Chris. Pretty sure that the battery could not go in the passenger compartment due to safety rules. I know that NHRA rules in 1965 outlawed batteries in interiors and don't think it would have changed.

I can only ditto all previous comments of how much I enjoy your videos. Question - what do you do to touch up the small areas that are original mold color where your alligator clips hold your non-sprue parts? Or even the spots that are cut from sprue after painting? I hope that makes sense. Also, do you primarily use craft paint and markers/color pens for the smaller details? This HAS to be so much more cost effective than jars of model brand paints.
