The owner was duped to the buying this airplane and it is been a pain in his ass ever sense. Originally paid way too much for the airplane. He has managed put about 400 hours on the airplane, and a few years back the airplane needed two cylinders replaced because the engine was overheating only to find out that it was the cause of the carburetor. Ended up replacing the carburetor. Shortly thereafter, accidentally taxied over a tiedown rope causing a sudden stoppage on the engine. The engine was sent in for overhaul by Mid Valley aviation. The following year was the first year that Rainbow Aviation did the annual inspection. We required about $4000 worth of maintenance to get through annual inspection. The owner was not flying very frequently however one of the other flight instructors started using the aircraft to train his grandson and one morning during the startup the engine was shaking. We brought it in our shop and determined that one of the valves had stuck open. We remove the cylinder and send it to Lycon for inspection and repair. It was rejected due to pitting in the intake port. We replaced the cylinder with a factory new cylinder. On the run-up to test the new cylinder a 2nd cylinder stuck a valve. We replaced that cylinder with another new factory cylinder. This all happened with less than 80 hours on the fresh overhaul from Mid Valley aviation. We tried to contact mid Valley for warranty work but the doors have been closed and we are unable to locate them. The documentation and record keeping on the engine overhaul all seems to be in order, but you gotta wonder. Looking back to the records we found that the 2 cylinders that did stick valves were the old cylinders. So the engine now has 2 cylinders with about 200 hours and 2 brand-new cylinders. This only happened in the last 2 weeks and the airplane now has about 4 hours of flight time on it since replacing the 2 cylinders. We estimate the owner to be underwater by about $30,000 if he gets his asking price. But what you gonna do. He originally just bought the airplane to get his private pilot license and had all along intended to buy a Cessna 172. After this experience, we wouldn't blame him if he never flew again.

Sorry, I did take video of it, but totally spaced putting it into the mix. It is a GPS but it's out of date and there's no support for the thing. The owner said that it does work.
