I adored my dad's P6s. First he had a 2000TC and then a very early 3500S (manual). I was insured to drive them both and would drive him and my mother to evenings out so that they could both drink. That meant 4 journeys in a night to and from whatever the venue was and they did go out a lot as he was MD of a food group (inc HP Sauce). The girlfriend who later became my wife was unmoved when I got the 3500S upto the ton on the A34 to Stratford on Avon. It was too quiet and civilised to impress. She liked the 8 track though! The driving position was quite 'legs down' in the way that SUVs are these days. My son was buying a VW Touran last weekend and I tried it out and the position reminded me of those old P6s. Bring them back!

I think the miles could well be correct as I believe they cheaped out on the quality of leather for the seats from previous models. This along with the style of the seats 'rouched / pleated' could explain the wear / flatness as big D explained.

I had a Lunar Grey SC back in 1983. It had rotten inner sills and a slipping clutch so I paid £50 for it. Fixed it up though and was still going strong when I sold it a year later.

When they did the facelift and dropped Zircon Blue they must have lost hundreds of sales as it was by far the most popular Rover 2000 colour. In most other respects the 2200 was an improvement.

Friend of mine has one.when changing a punctured tyre he was jacking up the car and the jack was going up but the car wasn't. It turned out that there was extensive rust and the jack has pushed tight through it.

My Dad had a turquoise 2200TC on an N plate. At only 4 years old, it needed 4 new wings. I'm surprised there are any of these left.

No way in a million years is that 18,000 miles wear on the driver's seat unless they slept in the car since 1975!

Had at least 6 of these so easy to work on back in the 80s so cheap them they were never tr6 or stag money but now they fetch good money. Down to Chelsea cruise poor oil pump and fuel evaporation specially in traffic. V8 manual for me.
