I had an aunt who had a 79 Lesabre. It was banana yellow exterior with brown cloth interior. That car was badass man. Only broke down once but the car was taking very well care of. Daily drove it all over the place up and down the east coast. When I was a kid I thought this was a land yacht lol. Great video man so many memories.

Pour Marvel Mystery oil in the engine to dissolve rust. Pour gas in the carburetor.

The fuel pump had lost prime. It takes some help to get it primed again. Also, I doubt that is an Oldsmobile 350. It sounds like a Buick 350, good for about 175hp. Also capable of pretty good gas mileage on the highway. Given a modern rebuild that 350 is an amazing engine. Loving the 64 Mercury, too. That is beautiful.

You can doubt it all you want but its still an Oldsmobile 350

Buick 350s have the distributor up front for starters. Its an olds engine. Buick also put pontiac engines in also.

Why do you pump the gas 28 times? 3-5 tops? Guaranteed you flooded the carb.
@Cheap1981

But i dump gas in the carb and it starts right up. Explain that one?
@styldsteel1

Or the pump in the carb. Either way. If you have to manually put fuel into the float bowl, there are fuel delivery issues going on
@Cheap1981

Not gonna argue that i know it doesnt get gas pumped up like it should

@@Cheap1981 right. That's my thinking. If it comes down to getting a new carb, or rebuilding this, you can get a new carb. They do come pre adjusted air and fuel mixture pre set. Don't even bother with a rebuild. Too much trouble and time involvement. Determine if it's a vacuum, or electric choke. I did that with my 77 LTD II. 302. The gas pedal would stick when coming off a green light. But only when it was cold. I guess something in the carb expanded with the heat. Anyway, I bought a brand new carb. I installed it in about 45 minutes and off I went. My LTD was an electric choke.
