Excellent job......nice to see a bike that was bought new, parked years later, then brought back to pristine!

Love this,an actual proper biker, not restoration to ' add your flavour to it' but restoration because you've ridden the wheels off it,an you wanna see it right, hats off to you.

Thank you for your kind comments. The only thing I outsourced was the homing of the cylinders to the new pistons and some parts to be chromed. I am not a professional. I retired as a VP of IT. I enjoy building things and do it for relaxation/ fun. I have been building Harleys, cars, etc. since I was 16 years old (I am now 67). The great thing about an old Harley is that they are simple design and really do not take a lot of special tools. If I can do it, anyone can. It always actually exciting when you run into something and figure out a way to overcome it. Do not worry about making mistakes, everyone does (they are great learning aids). Correct it and move to next task. Just be patient and do not rush. Definition of “failure“… is not attempting something for fear of failing. In the end to accomplishment is well worth the journey. Wish you all the best. God Bless.

Like your bike, i was born in 1977 too. I have owned a '73 Shovelhead over 20 yrs now, but i like to get a '77 too at some day. Just because its an excellent year!

Nice to see the life of your Harley and great what you did with the complete restoration. Did you do it according to the manual or are you a professional? (of course you take something to a workshop, for example grinding the cylinders, because you don`t have the machines) So i ask if i could do that too. I m a mechanic engineer, not a Harley (Shovelhead) prof... Wish you all days a good and safe drive... Greetings from Hamburg, Germany
