I'm so impressed by their calibre. I didn't start marching until 1980 so they were already gone by then I think.

This was a really good show. I also believe that our HS band used THAT EXACT parachute in our show the following year. LOL!

The good old days before corps filled up the front sideline with all their junk. These guys were entertaining.

You are 100% correct. That was the start of the demise of the activity with the pit, then, drummers, juggling instead of, drumming, electric guitars slide trombones, PA systems these very small audience, what's going on, or were they dancing and prancing no more uniforms, no color pretty with no American flag. By golly this is a marching band. And that's what they should be called today and you can thank DCI for that, in my opinion. Today February 13th 2023, former member of the Long Island Sunrisers.

Our last year was 1978. We didn't make DCI Finals, only in 1976 & 1977.

I was there in the audience, that day and they were outstanding. Unfortunately, drum corpse that came from Canada, never got what they really deserve, the judges in my opinion totally biased. Former member of the Long Island sunrises. Today January 6th 2022

We always used to say... 1st in Canada is 4th in the US. Or bettered 6th in Canada is 8th at DCI. They didn't see us ... and now we are gone.

@@cicook7 DCI, in my opinion, is destroyed one of the greatest youth activities throughout North America. They turned it into a marching band competition, superimposed on a three ring circus. We no longer have real drum and bugle Corps, may they all rest in peace. Drum Corps International, needs to change its title to, marching band International. Just call it what it really is. They are as woke as it gets today. They probably believe that men can become pregnant, and they endorsed CRT. And believe transsexuals transgender or whatever should be teaching our children in school. I am a former member of a Long Island Sunrisers 1964 through 1968. Today is January 27th 2023.

But I agree. Better color guard and horns, that's the Toronto Optimists in them.
