I really wish we could have these back in the showroom with just very few upgrades like brakes, tires, maybe fuel injection if absolutely required, LED lighting, upgraded electrical generally, and a bit of suspension work. Very little though. Should be as invisible as possible to the casual eye. Also the bike should come with a quality 1970 era BMW service tool bag. And particularly special offer that model to the people in a trade for all the R18 and NineT/5 posery. 75-80 HP is fine if all the rest is in hand, don’t stress about that. Everyone makes mistakes, they can be forgiven. Thanks, I am feeling better now…. 😐

It looks to have the original front wheel that was subject to a recall in the early eighties. The replacement wheel had an additional web cast around the central hub. If the bike were mine I’d seriously consider replacing it. Lovely bike btw!

Looks like a R90/S without the pretty paintwork , it’s all you really need.

Actually the paint work is very nice on these. R100S was a masterpiece of sport touring. Right at this time they also dropped the R-80 G/S on the world. That one was indeed a bit of the paint-free zone. Fairly minor upgrades and this sort of machine would work perfectly fine in the modern world.
