OK... let me see if I have this straight... You are the owner of a 1980 Peterbilt conventional big bunk long hood with a CAT 3408 and you are having a moment of hesitation about refurbishing the brakes. This project is a channel maker!! This is the big tent brother. The proper working up of the channel using the production model provided by TwinStick Garage will pay for anything and everything. Get focused and play follow the leader in reality truck building on KZitem. Loving the content.

To be honest I think Wayne should have a completely separate channel for the CAT power generally and in particular the long hood Peterbilt. There is no possible way for that formula to go wrong. One properly edited video each week around 30 minutes plus or minus... let's say Saturday and keep the crowd engaged rather than too much of nothing interesting which seems all too normal on other channels. I see the bones of a real show stopper truck. @@Anthony-qb2gr

Brother keep this truck. For some reason the Cat 3408 seems to be everybody’s holy grail even though they are expensive and never made as much horsepower or torque as a lot of other engines. I drove one back in the early and mid 80’s and it’s still my favorite engine. In fact if you keep this truck I would come and work on it with you if you give me room and board. When empty I take off in high range and use the crawler gear, then shift to high range 1st, 2nd etc. It's actually a good thing to do because when loaded and you really do need to use the crawler gear in low range on a hill in traffic or something, it trains you to get it in the 1st gear gate. Anyone who has ever missed going into 1st gear from crawler on a hill when heavily loaded will know exactly what I mean. No help if you're stuck between ranges or your driveshaft has rusted from the inside out LOL. Thought I'd mention it anyway.

I have never been interested in big trucks my self until i started watching the 2stroker video's... I , like many on here, watched you and bacon take the mossy on the trip to get it and spend like 4 hours changing the front right wheel and tire in some horrible heat and humidity... I knew the truck wasn't the " ol2stroker vibe" of your show, but I thought that it might be something a bit " different" to cuss at occasionally... I like others for some reason really like that truck... When you got the seat in it a few episodes ago I noticed the great dash layout and it seemed like a great cabin to ride in... When I saw the new V12 truck I sensed the end for the cat truck was near... I understand we all only have " so much money and time" so I can understand how you are probably itching to get on your new V12 truck and you could even use the money from the cat truck to fund it....... Still it would be neat to see the cat truck made like new again sitting in your fleet... Maybe put it aside and start in on your V12 long nose and not think about the cat truck for a while? I am sure you know that once it is gone there will probably never be another.... Personally I would sell the cabover and keep the Cat truck.... 3 long noses would be very cool..... Keep it up Wayne, I look forward to your weekly episodes.......

Driveshaft has left the group chat. That's a classic. Had me in tears. Sorry to laugh at your misfortune but misery does love company. You probably have one laying around. Thanks.

A rotten out driveshaft?! My uncle has a Restoration bussiness and he restores old army stuff, some of that stuff has rotten out frame rails, been burried for almost a decade but the driveshafts never were rotten that bad.

Perfect candidate for a common rail ; however I have no idea how it would make any ROI , unless you put it on the road . Well , of course views ,,, !

Uffda I ain’t never seen no shit like that before, and under almost no load either just letting the clutch out had enough torque to peel it right open! At least it happened in your driveway and not a hundred miles from home.

While the 3408 truck is okay, Mossy Broke and the V12 cabover are the keepers. Honestly, if you sold the 3408 truck and put the proceeds in the other two, that would be the way to go. I'm learning the lesson of too many projects and toys myself, late in life. You hate to let some stuff go, but you're better off, and so are the projects.

@@Ol2Stroker I made a decision recently to get a couple running well and in decent repair, and let them go. The money and space will go to other projects I care more about and enjoy more. That 3408 truck, after you fix a few more things, will bring good money. It's rare enough, and desirable enough, with a pretty decent sized market, that there's someone out there who really wants to have it. It's a cool truck, even to a couple of hard core 2 stroke Detroit guys like you and me. There are some hard core Cat people out there, some of them would kill for it. I'm having a bit of a fight with cancer, it makes you think about time, and what you want to do. I say that because I want people to have the wake up call I got, without the cancer!

Isn't this an extremely desirable truck? Possibly the most desirable truck? I find it hard to believe that there would be any hesitation over building a new drive shaft and redoing some brakes. Maybe you should reach out to Twin Sticks Garage and see if he would like to take over. A truck of this caliber deserves a revival with documentation.

Well maybe that was one of those fiancy liquid balanced driveshafts or the V8 kitty has that much torque... or it's just another day of working on junk either way always enjoy the videos and new and interesting ways things can can fail without injuries of course. Merry Christmas
