Short notice: Unfortunately I do not take requests on this channel, mainly due to them being time consuming and sadly having a rather busy schedule. However, please enjoy the content I post and thank you for watching!

Here is my favourite machine of Luke's, his wonderful 1980s Electra-badged Philips model AWF862, essentially a Philips Variotronic, this is from the iconic "Spin-Drain" models, which launched into spin full of water to aid in balancing the load. The later "Series 90" models, which I filmed back in September would distribute fast and then ramp into spin after the water drained.
Electra were the "Electricity Board Exclusive" brand, who also at the time rebadged Hoover, Creda, Hotpoint and Servis for the Electricity Board (Southern Electric, British Gas etc) shops. Usually with an added economy feature such as Time Delay to take advantage of Economy 7 Electric times or Half load to save water and energy. However some machines were straight up carbon copies, just wearing the Electra badge, such as this model here. The "Permag" (Permanent Magnet) motors make a very unique sound to Philips machines and provide a LOT of torque! Enjoy! :).
