I could not find any collaboration on your assertion that Tojo was a Marine. Harold Wantanabe was his given name and he was 18 in 1945 . Mr Mantel served in Vietnam and won metals fir bravery. Their is a shoot and their is kafave...Do you know the difference.

@@tonyd7601 I realize that this is a 4yr old post so perhaps you have learned by now that words you sought were 'corroboration' and 'kayfabe'. Yes Harold Watanabe was a native Hawaiian is known to have served in the Marine Corp where he taught judo. A quick Google search reveals several references.

Dutch was great in the ring and could cut awesome promos. He also had a great mind for the wrestling business. Dutch using the word Jap is borderline cringey . I wouldn't say it was a racial slur, but it could be taken that way. Of course this was about 40 years ago. One thing about wrestling in the 80's was xenophobic stereotyping of people from other countries was rampant (not just in the USA , because in Japan the Americans were usually portrayed as heels). It was rare when you had someone from another country portrayed as a good guy in the 80's. While I think wrestling was more fun to watch back then , I'm glad that the xenophobic attitude is gone from most of modern wrestling.
