This was my first and only bike. Bought it new off the show-room floor in Hollywood, CA and still have it. Those were the best years, living on the west coast driving the coast and canyons for almost the entire year. It was fast, quick, smooth and very nimble. Ever since 1986 (when we moved to Chicago), it's mostly been sitting in my garage with only being brought to life and used for a year here and there. Luckily, my son-in-law (an owner of 2 bikes) is a professional mechanic and he wants to get it running next spring so we can finally ride together. Can't wait.

I've had 2 of these bikes and neither engine sounded like that - could be the cam chain is loose. Brilliant bikes, plenty of power, often overlooked for the 900. The 750 engine pushes hard.

I’m in love (again,). You’ve taken me back to my 1980 CB750F Super Sport. Yours is almost identical to my Sweetheart - my color scheme included the same silver, but the pinstripes had one bead of burgundy. I also had the most beautiful pattern drilled disc rotors. I can close my eyes and still feel her, including that one day on I-90 near Albany when she scared me spitless! She was linear and tame between when she first started to breathe (~2400 rpm) and the high 3k range but at ~4000 rpm, she just rolled on raw power up to the redline!! Thank you for bringing this (rather) old guy back in time to some very special memories. God bless your work and the Museum!🙂

Bought a CB750F in the US, back in 1981. I loved it so much I took it with me when I moved to Germany (where they absolutely loved the American version of the 750F), and rode it there for 5-years.

I owned that exact model. Rode it for five years. Wonderful bike. Great style. Very reliable mechanically. Fun. Inexpensive. My local Honda dealer had a bunch from earlier years sitting new in crates. They were practically giving them away. Hard to believe. I remember mine was extremely sensitive to stale gas. This may sound crazy but it simply would not start if the gas sat for more than three or four days in the tank. It needed fresh high test to even start let alone run well. If it sat with the same gas in the tank for a week it would not start. The Honda dealer insisted this was normal. Once per their recommendation I added gas stabilizer to every fill up the problem went away. Other than that it was a fantastic bike.

When i was 12 years old back in 77, my dad always said "only idiots ride motorcycles". Somehow i convinced him to take me to the local dealer "just to look" and we came out of there with a little 80cc bike for me, wasnt long after that, he saw how much fun i was having and he bought a 250cc bike for himself and he eventually would up with a CB750F, just like this one in the video. Good memories, i miss you Dad.

I owned one for 5 years from 2008. and it was a great bike, the charging system did however break down two times. and one rectifier and two rotors changed before i sold it. but handling IS as you would expect from a 80 bike. I own new bikes now and boy has motorcycles come far since then.

my charging system failed as well. but it was because it slid a quarter mile down the hi-way, gnawing off my stator, etc.

My last bike I ever owned. The exact model and colour. I hit a car doing about 150 km/h. I flew through the air, tumbled, and slid over 100 meters on the pavement. The cop in the emergency room told me I'd hit a car as I don't remember anything. His words were, "you were going a little fast huh son?" I suffer PTSD ever since but man was that a beaitiful bike. It sounded a little rough, but hey she's a little long in the tooth.

I love the silver engines of the earlier years. My three in a row '82 'F-bikes have all had the black engines - I'm thinkin' I should STRIP the paint from my "CB900K0 Bol Bomber" - and if it runs a bit hotter as a consequence, I'll just beef up the oil-cooler even more than I've already done! Screw it - aesthetics are EVERYTHING for Classic Superbikes! They're no longer economical, that's now the '90s territory, as with the power & performance. What's left? AESTHETICS! So don't short-change yourself, don't be embarrassed to say "I'm doing mods for the LOOKS" - Well wtf ELSE are you running an '82 DOHC-4 Honda for? Shitz & gigglez? No - 'cause they LOOK and SOUND soooo 'F-in' awesome.

Your idle jets are plugged on one or more carbs. I just had to listen to the engine run and sputter a bit. You then confirmed the problem when you said the bike sat for a few years. BINGO ! I would pay $2000. Seen better. Had a 1980F and own a 1979K (just bought May 10 '20, These have pressed in idle jets. You need to play guitar to fix them with your B or maybe even E string and a flashlight.

Too quite for my tastes. I punch my exhaust tips on my SuperSport. Reason being, if a driver can't see me, I want them to hear me and know I am near by as so they hopefully wont hit me.
