Congratulations, very nice CJ-7. I have a 1980 CJ-7 with a 304 V8. I am the original owner. It is a Renegade with original paint and decals. About to install a Holley Sniper fuel injection kit. Have not been able to get the carburetor to run correctly for 20 years. I'm upgrading my original clock, too.

LOVE THIS JEEP! I like to think I know a little bit about CJ’s and I gotta say this is what you would call a “survivor” (if its original, which I’m assuming it is). This jeep is so cool! That color is 1D Autumn Gold and is a very rare color, You could only get it in 1981. Also you have what looks to be original nutmeg dash pad and nutmeg carpet, which are not in any reproduction anywhere. Pare that with the original Laredo seats (ripped or not) you’ve got a 100% killer setup! Vary rare for all original. The only thing is that steering wheel doesn’t look like it came with a Laredo. Not saying it ain’t AMC, but the Laredo should have had a leather wrapped wheel and a bigger gray colored center button with fake lug nuts circling the horn button. You can tell the difference in the steering wheels by looking at them. All in all this jeep is something to be proud of, you don’t see them like this much anymore. Very happy for you!

Love the CJ7. It looks very clean and well-cared-for. I would reinforce that DIY idler pulley bracket 'though.

Thank you, much appreciated! Yeah I’ll definitely look into it, there’s not a lot of videos with people removing the smog pump and having a bracket there. It’s held pretty good so far off-roading and on road but definitely hope to have something better in the future
