Great bike! I put 50k miles on one. Five sets of tires, riding between Kona, hawaii and Ocean View, Big Island. Trouble free, until the computer died, and there were no replacements available.

I put 50,000 on my 1982 750 Seca, ten thousand miles and the tires needed to replaced. Still looked just as good as yours. All on the Big Island of Hawaii. Between Kona, and Ocean View, a 50 mile one way trip. The ignition computer died, I searched high and low for a replacement, no joy!

I'm a member of the Seca crew. I bought a (barely used) one for about $2500 in 1981. Loved that bike! Very dependable - my buddy & I rode all the way from Sacramento to Disneyland and then California City & Tijuana one summer. Lots of great memories. That is a very distinguishing sound they make when you rev them up. Mine also had the engine guards and I added a small handlebar fairing to keep the pressure off my chest while riding on the freeway. I wonder if I can find one to rent for some good memory time?

I had the same exact bike in high school in 1982...what a scary bike for a 17 year old to ride back in the day.

That was perfect. I had 26000 on mine in 83 when they stole it. It was in the same shape as yours. Ran the same, sounded the same, all original without the crashbars. I opted for the handlebar fairing and shortly after the hydraulic damper. That was scary. I miss that thing so much. What a fantastic machine. It was so tight and motor was so narrow you could lay that thing down in turns like nobody else. sigh. oh well. You did good on the price. Mine was 3200 when I bought it from the dealer. My first scooter.

+Jeff Schneider I would have given you $5000 American if it hadn't been for that damn cover.

What cover are you talking about ??? Pity you werent around with $5k in 2011 when I sold my spectacularly clean and original 1983 model with full factory fairing and boxes. Bike was 100% as new and only 7000 miles, in best colour red, all original and literally not a mark on it. Had to be the cleanest example in the USA. I ended up selling for about mid twos as i was returning to Europe.

@@jamesmarshall3311 I'm now looking at an '81 with a little over 17K miles. Black in color and has an original Yamaha optional factory Sport fairing for $2500. Maybe I'll finally pull the trigger and buy my first Yamaha.

I am amazed that no one has commented on this bike, a lovely example indeed. Considering the amount of looks some rubbish vids get, I cant figure this one out !! Did you sell it, and for how much ??? Bike sounds sweet too. I currently own a fully restored example, and have had 5 previously !!! Great machines.

I bought my Seca used. It looked like brand new, but was sitting outside in the snow. I was curious, it turns out, the guy was just married, the guys wife was pregnant and the guy had to sell the bike, in the winter in Seattle, Washington. No room in the manger for any stinken' motorcycles.
